by this i mean that all HAM-boxes, wapoint monitors and stuff like that go away

I believe it's <ctrl>-h... at least it is for me, but I'm using the "first-person shooter" keyboard template. You may have to look in Options - Controls - Keymap and do some searching.

<Shift><Ctrl>H on the default keymap
