If you go to Jabbas palace you will see alot more. Apparently they are the true owners of the palace and are merely letting him use it.

They remove their brains and insert them into those spider thing bodies, I think the Scythe quest from Mos Entha elaborates on this a little more. It's something to do with their spirituality and philosphies- crazy guys

Bomarr monks are a religious group who live in jabbas palace (Its actually a monastary or something) they believe the only way to reach enlightenment is to become a brain in a jar and get a spider walker thing.

Seen em loads.

The B'omarr Monk are a sect of monks who inhabited the wastes of Tatooine. The B'omarr built a huge citadel in the deep desert in order to isolate themselves and concentrate on the physical denial of all senses that is central to their belief system. One thing that is known about the B'omarr is that, when they reach a certain level of spiritual awareness, they have their brains surgically removed from their bodies and placed in a nutrient suspension. The reason behind this ritual stems from their belief that they no longer need their physical bodies to continue their devotion.

One can be seen in ROTJ walking behind R2 and 3PO when they enter Jabba's Palace (or was it Luke )

Check this out (from starwars.com):

Bib Fortuna escaped the destruction of the sail barge in a small private skiff. He joined in a cut-throat battle for the last of Jabba's riches. He holed himself up in Jabba's palace, fighting a disorganized war against others trying to carve apart the carcass of the criminal empire. Though Fortuna appeared to be the victor, he was soon descended upon by the mysterious B'omarr monks who lived in the palace. The monks, wishing to spread the serenity of bodiless enlightenment, subjected Fortuna to their ritual surgery. They removed Fortuna's brain, placing it in a droid-like spider walker. Fortuna endured the madness of an existence deprived of senses for years. Jabba's palace was claimed by an enterprising Twi'lek named Firith Olan, who delighted in tormenting the bodiless Fortuna. Despite being just a brain in an ambulatory jar, Fortuna was able to defeat Olan. He employed the B'omarr techniques to transfer his brain into Olan's body, and Fortuna was able to live again. Armed with Olan's identity, Fortuna began making a strident return to the criminal underworld.

This much about the spiders...

On the topic of rare creatures:

I spent the last few days grinding Huurtons and Quenkers on Dantooine, doing my Master Brawler.

I did like 50 lairs of both in this time, and there were only Quenkers, Huurtons and Huurton Howlers in these lairs.

Suddenly on my way from the lair to the mission terminal, I saw a creature called

"A quenker relic reaper"

all alone without other quenkers right on the edge of the town. It had more HAM than Quenkers or Savage Quenkers,

around 15k IIRC.

Second creature. I was on a Huurton Howler mission. Was hitting the lair, and the two spawns were over, which usually

means you can hit the remaining 1/4 of hitpoints out of the lair without a new spawn.

Suddenly AFTER the lair was destroyed, a creature called

"a huurton bloodhunter"

spawned in the place where the lair was. It had more HAM also, around 12k IIRC.

Well I killed them both and they dropped NOTHING, which is pretty sad imo.

If you encounter a type of creature this rarely (I spent 3 days only doing these lairs), they should be made to

drop something good.

Anyone ever saw one of these?

Best regards

1. The quenker relic reaper isn't a rare monster. You can actually get missions for them. They're basically just stronger quenkers. (Hint: look at the mission level).

2. The "huurton bloodhunter" you speak of is a rare spawn. However, this happens on other lower end mobs as well. It's an occasional surprise at the end, but for the most part, the only benefit to these rarer mobs is more xp.

If you wish to find out more about this and the Monks, then i suggest that you read the book:
Tales from Jabba's Palace.
It tells you all about the denizens of the palace and what happens to them shortly before and shortly after Jabba is killed in Return of the Jedi.
It's a great read and will also give you some insight into how Boba Fett escapes the Sarlacc Pit.

If you read the book "Stories from Jabba's Palace" or something to that name. The book is a combination of short stories. One of the stories has to deal with Fortuna and the monks.
