I'm leading 40-70 people on a DWB raid in 9 days. I've read the walk thru posted here:
http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=bounty_hunter&message.id=231467
A few people who are coming have been close to or all the way to the droid crafting station (I haven't been past second door key). I'm looking for advice from people who have crafted Mando armor. We have the firepower. Any other advice (especially to the group leaders)?
Below is part of the email sent out to the groups, any coments on that would be great too.

Some rules:
Number 1: Do NOT LOOT anything (group leader only). The spawn rate is 4 minutes. Some rooms have 2 Super Battle Droids, bosses and a few other baddies, all in the same room. This is 1 million HAM in ONE room. If you do not loot, it slows the spawn rate down to 8 minutes. (Group leader will loot for entire group. He’ll get keys, major loot drops, etc. He will probably NEVER loot SBDs). If you loot, you are removed from the group and will not be rezzed.
Stay by the group leader (magenta dot)
It’s the group leader’s role to keep the group moving, trust him (her) and keep up. If you get behind (for reasons other than incap or death), you stay behind. 3-6 meters is not a bad range to be near group leader
Do not start crafting until you are sure you have everything for the forge.
Do NOT use area attacks. REMOVE these from your tool bar.
Attack health bar (or general). That’s body shots, torso shots, etc…
Know your role in the group:
TKS: Take damage! Taunt baddies off the crafters, docs and CM’s (and to a lesser extent ranged fighters)
Sword, pikemen, Jedi: Do damage (and to a lesser extent, take damage). ELECTRICAL damage is your friend.
Ranged: Concentrate Firepower. ALWAYS attack the easiest to kill target. If there is a SBD with 50k HAM left that the group’s been banging on for 3 minutes and a 20k Death Watch Assassin pops up, switch target and kill easiest (assassin)…EVERYTIME. Always attack same target.
Docs/CM’s: PEACE out of combat if you’re needed for healing. Get other docs up first. CM’s pace those mind heals and use sparingly. Drag incaps and corpses when needed instead of instant rezzing sometimes
- A volunteer may be asked to “take one for the team” The person will go into a room agro everything and run like hell back away from group, and then die (and not be rezzed). This will clear out a room. This person will clone cannot come back as he/she will bring too many baddies when he comes back.
BRING SUPPLIES, AND COME PREPARED
DO NOT BUFF BEFOREHAND. We’ll get everyone buffed at cantina before raid. This will allow 2 (mind buff) to 3 hour buffs
Bring all weapons: Electrical Damage Weapons if you have them for your class.
Bring full composite armor: Bring an extra chest plate, boots, and helm. Kinetic Damage
Bring food and spice: Canape, brandy, arisa, moun (for emergencies). Canape, bivoli for Docs
Bring a battle droid (if lag allows). I’m not sure about this one yet, but it will create an extra target for baddies and do a little damage
Doc and CMs: Rez kits, stims, buff packs, etc…you should know the drill
Group leaders will be briefed on things like:
How to get into DWB (talk to Boba Fett)
Room key spawn rates
Separate missions inside DWB
Combat methods
Leapfrogging groups into rooms to give breaks as we go along
When to wait and farm a room for items
When to move group as fast as possible
What and when to loot
Sharing items between other groups
How to get thru difficult areas
Loot issues:
Only group leaders will be looting.
First of all, we are not going for the loot. We are going for the glory of the hunt. For the fun.
There will be some (I hope). It will be looted by group leader and sold at auction for entire group.
The Mando Helment (and jet pack) may not be made in this one attempt. We might take two runs on DWB in same night. We will be coming back in a week. If it is made, it will be shared by the guilds involved and not auctioned off. Perhaps a weekly event if we get real good. Get a whole set
We might all die. We might have 60 people and lag the hell out of the planet. We might get everything made and have the most successful one night run on the DWB.
But, if everyone does their part, we will have a blast.
Forward this to your friends, and see you in 2 Sundays.

Exactly when were you doing this again? All you said was, "9 days from now". Thank you

Ill give you a tip, if you are going with that many people. I suggest you take a small group and get atleast the first 2 door keys before hand. It can be done with a small group of 10-12.
Also, keep everything out of ranged combat. Should make a team to get any NPC out of ranged combat into melee. Those guys do HUGE damage at range, especially with styles.

here's my advice. Don't go there. Boycott it, so the devs don't make any other dungeons like this
one.
one.

I'm leading a similar sized group on Sunday, and a few weeks ago lead 30 people, unsucessfully. Each group MUST have their own key; or one group will go through and the other will be left behind. This happened before, it was carnage. I'm expecting 40+ people, it is going to be crazy, and alot of the info on this thread is very useful, thanks.
I go on sunday, so if you go after I will let you know how it goes, and hopefully vice-versa

this actually was a pretty useful read. Thanks.
Edit: good post, ignore my earlier negativity about DWB in design

Just tossing in a quick word of advice from someone who has lead a couple of raids .... TeamSpeak/Ventrillo is you're friend ... Being able to talk to you're group is 10000000x easier then typing as you are get'n you're butt kicked.

Brox, 9 days from now is pretty vague on purpose. I did an event 5 or 6 weeks ago with almost 70 people at DWB. We had too many morons dragging trains of spawns up the dungeon so they could hurry up and join a group because they were late. It got to the point to where only one group got a key and away from morons who could drag trains on them.
This won't happen this time.
A few of the major guilds are donating several elite players to the run.

Nabe, you rule. Thank you so much.
Looting will still be done by group leaders only to ensure that loot is spread evenly (sell valuable items at auction and split the credits, give items that will help on future DWB raids to DWB Raiders)
We have just about every weapon imaginable on this run. We'll figure out damage type.
We have done many MANY multiple group hunts in the past. The group leaders should be able to keep everyone under control. The main purpose of multi-groups is to get as much done in 6 hours with 3 full groups going on 2 runs each. Occationally we will combine group firepower when both groups are thru the same door. We will also be leapfrogging room to room to give breaks.
We will have our own chat channel and a ton of people (not all) on ventro for communication. Group chat is still most important, as you follow your own group leader and ventro could get rough with 3 full groups. Each group will be indivually trying to craft the Mando Armor and other things. Group leaders will be in touch with one another via tells.
Great advice on loot boxes, keys, and non-static spawns.
We have 10-15 docs/CM coming. It's overkill in some cases, but we've gotten thru some rough times with many docs.
Thanks again.

Just for fun, here some some big group pics from the EARLY days of SWG. Back when 60 people would be killed by 3 krayts. Many of these are pretty cool, some you "just had to be there."

Yuuster speaks the truth I was there. The pass keys are essential for a multi group venture into the DWB. We got stalled at the second door without a pass key. So we waited a bit and a few MOBs popped here and there, the other group engaged some guys down the hall. Then things went bad, mostly because the first group started splitting off to help the smaller second group stalled at the door, many things started to spawn and eventually total chaos ensued. The remainder of the first group got whittled down and those that retreated back to the second group brought more MOBs with them. Things started spawning everywhere and after a few DBs everything went to hell. One thing that ensured the final defeat of both groups was panic in the end.A lot of the people there stopped listening to group leaders and focused on self preservation, which, alone in the DWB is not going to happen. Attacks were no longer concentrated and kiting into other rooms brought more havoc. Now Im not saying it cant be done, but you need to resolve the passkey issue, and have good groups that listen to group leaders, without that everyone else's useful tips wont help you much. Good luck.
