Thread: question no one has answered for me because they dont know
how do i quit a chat channel?
at some point in time, you may have joined a chat channel, say for your city, faction, or simply a group of friends. now the channel is no longer being used. you've tried to delete the tab and "quit" the channel, but every time you log in, you automatically join (or re-create!) the channel. how do you get out?
answers, anyone?
thanks,

I have an issue -that's usefull for knowledge base, which i found this morning and may already be menttioned but in a different format
I mistakedly selected MASK SCENT as one of my default actions whilst in combat using "ctrl" and a icon on my toolbar for MASK SCENT.
Hence when i was in combat i got a repeated message unable to MASK SCENT right now
This could be repeated with so many other things if someone mistakedly hits an icon for something non-combat related or a different default action for instance prone, sit, kneel etc
It may be usefull for the default combat action to only be available to combat related functions, this way when ever combat is started for whatever reason ERROR messages or wrong functions will be minimal...
Kilomania
I'm a new swg'er, & I have a problem that I haven't solved yet. I'm accumulating lewt from all these adventures, but am not interested in being a bazaar camper. Is there any way to dump this stuff for minimal return just to keep it moving? I hate to destroy things... junk dealers don't want anything I ever have, but it's nice stuff. Everything from natural resources to winnings from space combat.
The in-game guides have lots of info for buying things, but there's a big gaping hole where 'selling things' should be.

The link to the knowledgebase in the original post is broken.

Ok, i'll add my two cents to this:
1) fix the grammar errors in the existing documentation please (this would include spelling)
2) make the online kb much more easily searchable, for example, "feedback" is not exactly a useful search catagory under "In-game", now you'd have a start with a list like:
"Interface"
"Combat"
"Skills"
"Macros & Commands"
"Space"
"Professions"
AND
"Feedback"
now you'd be getting somewhere, and if you were so bold as to add sub catagories to those, like listing out the professions as subcatagories and sorting them by relavent posts, you'd improve the usefulness of a KB. Nothing worse than a database full of knowledge you need but can't find (because then it might as well not be there, cue all the microsoft bashing you can muster here, and what's sad is their KB IS catagorized and ya still can't find a damn peice of relevant info)
3) I, along with quite a few others would like to see a full, current, up to date, list of ALL the / commands, whatprofessionuses them, what parameters they take, and what they do,sorted any one of the following ways:
a) by profession (ex: under carbineer would be "firearm Strike", "rapid Fire" etc)
b) by type (emote, group, combat, space, item manipulation, social, etc.)
c) alphabetically
Now as for how to display these commands, you could use a template like this (I pulled the first command that came to mind)
name: Bomber Strike 3
Command(s): /bstrike3(list any other commands here)
Useable: In space only
Type: Pilot Ability (Imperial)
Parameters: none
Profession / SkillRequired: Imperial Pilot Ace
Variants / Precursors: Bomber Strike, Bomber Strike 2
Example usage: /bstrike3;
Description: Calls in a TIE strike package against the current target. If the current target is invalid, the strike package will not enter the area, and the message "Imperial High Command will not allocate a strike package against that target" (or at least thats what i THINK it says when you have an invalid target, either way, you get the point)
or for a less profession specific example:
Name: Tell
Command(s): /tell, /t
Useable: Anywhere in game
Type: Communications
parameters: a valid player name followed by the message
Profession / Skill Required: none
Variants / Precursors: Tell Pet (and list the others here)
Example usage: /tell playername messagegoeshere
Description: This command is used to send a private instant message to another player. You can also use this command to send messages to your self from a macro to keep yourself updated as to what your macro is currently doing.
Put up and maintaina full list like that with that level of detail or higher, nicely sorted, catagorized, easily searchable, etc. and make life easy on us, especially since "//" is both broken (if you scroll all the way up, you can only read from like the last 1/3rd of the letter C on), and doesnt tell you JACK about what the command DOES.
now, before i get flamed, i do send myself tells in a couple of my space macros to keep myself updated on cooldowns (usually for droid progs)
