Thread: Some core system change ideas to improve emersion

1. A "Z" axis to allow jumping and swimming down to underwater cities on Naboo


2. Here is an idea I have been throwing around. An instanced zone for launching your starship from the ground and flying it into space. Ex. you zone into your own hanger with your ships parked there, walk on your ship and take control of the controls...then fly it into space. Maybe then zone into the space zone.


3. The ability to actually fly from one planet to another if you want to take the time to do it.


4. Guns on vehicles.


5. Pod racers..I mean OMG why do we not have these yet?



Add your own...it has been a long time that this game has been out and these seem to be no brainers....can we get em?

SWG has been converted into a manageable resource. More content and new features can and will be added. SWG is not going anywhere and neither am I.
Download Ventrilo or TeamSpeak and use it with groups
re-bind your key bindings and learn them(muscle memory)

I like it. One of the things I feel is missing from SWG is the feeling of vertical mobility. Skyscrapers and such were dominant features of the landscape, not useless decorations. Underwater cities would be cool, too.

Well, the launch zone idea is pretty cool, actually. I don't know that it needs to be instanced, though. I think we could get more immersion if players actually saw ships launching from starports. As far as flying from one planet to another...that's a physical impossibility. The ships we fly in-game go roughly 90km/h. It would take ships like these one hundred and sixty days to get from the Earth to the moon. I don't want servers crashing because we have space zones that take half a year to fly across.

I don't think that armed vehicles are going to happen. That would give all players the ability to kite mobs endlessly, due to vehicles' speed. And to be honest,I don't see why we really need pod racers, but customization for vehicles would be a good thing.


Anyway, here's an idea of my own: Functional windows. Why don't we have these? They couldn't hurt, at least in NPC cities. One result of our windowless state is that every building in the game feels very closed-off. I think we could benefit from a good view.

Windows would be a nice addition


I have been waiting, and I am sure everyone else has as well, for the terrain to actually act as if it were there for strategical reasons. If I hide behind a bolder from a sniper, I expect that sniper to have to repossition him/her self to shoot me. As it is now, they just shoot through the boulder, house, or mountain. This has been a problem far to long, and if not rectified the GCW revamp will still be flawed.
