Thread: Newbie question regarding Crystals.

I haven't been playing this game very long. I've been doing Janta missions in solo groups for the past couple weeks and I've looted several crystals... My question is, how do I know which crystals are good and which are junk? Why do some crystals not have colors? I see crystals on the trade forum selling from between 300k and 3million, and I want to know how much mine are worth. I have a few that are above 1100 condition and many more that are below 1000. Thanks for your help.

Color crystals just define the color of the saber your are crafting.
Clear crystals make the stats on the saber.
Only Jedi can see the Quality of the clear crystal, the better the quality, the better dmg saber

Color crystals - are just that - they define the color of the lightsaber blade. regardless of what type of lightsaber a Jedi crafts, one color crystal is always needed.
Clear crystals - are called Power or Damage crystals because they contains stats that modifies how a lightsaber does damage, attack speed and force power consumption.
Even if a Jedi looks at your crystals, he would only see its Quality. The list follows (taken from SonGouki's excellent FAQ in the Jedi forums):
Crystal/Pearl Quality Types: Poor, Fair, Good, Quality, Select, Premium, Flawless
Besides knowing the Condition (eg: 1000/1000) and Quality, the other stats are unknown till a Jedi tunes the crystal.
Crystal/Pearl Min/Max Damage
Crystal/Pearl Speed
Crystal/Pearl Force Cost
Crystal/Pearl HAM Cost
Note that once a Jedi tune's the crystal, s/he cannot trade it to anyone. It is thus 'tuned' to that Jedi. You could estimate the above statistics from knowing which creature dropped it, the more powerful the mob, the greater its power (if it was a power crystal). Colored crystals are the same regardless of which mob dropped them.
What is a crystal worth?? IMHO, it is what the market will bear. You know where the crystal came from, you know what type of crystal it is, you can then observe your trade forums on previous transactions of such crystals. From there you can gauge its worth.
