Hi

After many hours of reading and studying all that I could find out about the Corvette Mission and being a neutral Master Artisan, I finally decided to give it a go. I wanted to try the Neutral Rescue Mission, ( seems a fairly reasonable Mission for only being a Craftsman,) so off I went to Tatooine, found Wayfar and located the Cantina. Wow, on my way now!! Need to find a female Zabrak, named Yondalla( she's one of Jabba's most trusted lieutenants, ) talk to her and she is suppose to give me places to got and find a Prisoners Release Document. Cool.

The first step to a real adventure and sure enough, there she was. My pencils sharpened, paper ready I selected to converse with her and here's what she said: " Something's come up. I can see that you're busy now, but come talk to me when you finish with that. I could use your help!"

Busy? I wasn't busy, I was not working for anyone else and had no open missions, nothing.

Went back time and time again and still got the same response. That was last nightand I have been trying to get information on what that could mean without success! So I flew back home toCorellia, wasted credits, wasted time!

I would feel a lot better if someone could shed some light on my encounter!

Thanks alot

Amatron

Wow...What a very nice and constructive post, I'm amazed. I especially like the thanks alot bit and stuff...For some reason you make me want to be your friend right then and there. And no, that's not sarcasm.

Anyhoo, onto your question, unfortunately I can't help as I've never done the corvette (too tough for me), but I felt compelled to post a reply because you're just so darn polite!

No you made MY day!

As for the mission, did you try going back to the beginning and starting over, talking to the first NPC and so on? That'd be about the only thing I could think of.

I also had this problem trying to do the neutral corvette.

Turns out I had talked to the Imp corvette guy a while before, and his "mission" still stuck. Try going to all the neutral or factional corvette mission-givers and if one thinks you are working for him, tell them you can't do their mission. Then you should be able to do the one you want.

Indeed.. Unfortunately, you have spoken to one of the other 5 'vette starter people'.. The other two Neutrals are in Jabba's palace, one in entrance and one by Mr. Elephant as I like to call him. Try those first.. You can cancel thier missions by speaking to them and return to Yonalla if you so choose...

Side Note... The Destroy missions are, in my most moderately humble opinions, the best to get started on. But give em' a go

I agree with wha the other people are saying that you may have talked to one ofthe other people for the missions. Someone already mentioned talking to the other misson givers but you can also try going to one of the guild halls in Coronet. Th eone im thinking of if you walked out of the starport and took a right then a left at the square (where all the crafting stations and traners are), then walk to wards the garden there is a "guild hall" to your left in there is a guy with a blue dot above his head (im sorry I have no idea what his name is). Ifmemory serves me correctrly he is right inside the first room. Anyway if you talk to this guy he will metion that you are working for someone else and give you the choice to stop working for that person. I found this out quite by accident while doing the Polished Krayt Skull Quest. Maybe that will help.

Now if I could go a little further and suggest that you reconsider trying to do the rescue mission by yourself. The problem with doing that solo is that you will pull agro meaning you wont be able to converse with the prisoners. There are a few ways around this but im guesing that they might not be avaialble to you. If I may, I'd suggest you do the destroy mission as it does not require fighting at all (your sabotaging the ship not fighting). Also your post says your a Master Artisan but I would stronly recomend getting some med skills because there is times where even when runing you will still be taking some hard hits from the SBD's and Npc's.

Lastly if you happen to be on the Radiant server send Gradius a tell and ill take you up if your just looking to get the badge.

Hi again,

Thanks for the help, gues I'll try the Destroy Mission. I did talk to another npc and was released from working for someone else and still Yandalla gave me the same response.

Thanks for all the tips. I have mastered Marksman and Scout besides being an Artisan but I think I still have some sklill points left and maybe take the basic medic skills to be able to heal myself.

My in-game name is Akeel Doomark and I'm on Valcyn, Corellia, near Coronet.

Have a good one

You're going to get slaughtered if you go up there alone - especially with that template. I would suggest going up there with a well rounded group of experienced vette players who know their way around, because you WILL get lost, and you WILL die if you dont.

My master fencer/master doc can hold his own up there, only because i know where i'm going since i've been up there 15 or so times. But even with that template, taking a wrong turn or stopping to figure out where i'm at, and i'm down.

There are mobs up there that will shoot you for 2500-4000 points per shot - it gets bad when you have 3-4 of them on you plus a few SBDs lurking the halls.

I understand your desire to go up and check it out, but please don't do it alone - you will not enjoy, i can promise you that.

Thanks for the advise GotEgg. I have been invited several times to go on themission with various groups but always declined. I just feel that with my template, as you mentioned, how could I be of any useto a group? So I figured if I soloed it, even if I die, I may get an idea of the layout, just to become familiar with it! The problem with groups is finding one that has a leader that can organize a plan for each member of the group regardeless of their templates, skills or weapon certificates. I've noticed a few players getting upset ( not that I don't blame them ), when a low skilled, non combat experienced player made off with the loot while others were fighting off the mobs. I blame that either on dishonesty or not having a good plan of action. Guess it's a little tough finding a group that you can trust. I appreciate all the good stuff that I have learned from the responses to my posting and you're all invited to my funeral on the Corvette, lol.

Well, I'm another person moved to be helpful by your cheerful approach

I had a guild mate in exactly this situation and eventualy they found that they had indeed accepted a mission from another Corvette mission giver - just speak to each of the listed NPCs who give corvette missions (including faction ones for any faction you have ever had) and one of them will probably be expecting you to do a mission for them. If that is not the issue then I can only recomend you put in a CSR ticket (e.g. you may have accepted a mission from a faction you no longer have and they wont talk to you even to quit the quest, I'm sure it can be cleared manualy somehow).

You are quite right about it being worth while to have a look arround on your own - I'd recomend you do this relativly soon after server up as the more often the Corvette is attempted the more SBDs spawn and they can be both trigger happy and deadly.

If you do know your way arround then realy any template is usefull - I have taken three groups up recently and each time it was a crafter who proved invaluable (admitedly by 'distracting' an SBD for the few brief seconds it took for them to die but if I can survive 2 SBDs attacking me and they distract 2 of the 4 then its the diference between win and loose). Drawback to this is that the 'meeting room door' will probably be closed (once opend it doesn't close till server reset, its a shortcut that makes it soloable).

If you have the Hero of Tatooine Ring then you can do the rescue mission solo - indeed it is the easiest in that instance. When you prep for your 'real' attempt I'd recomend taking someone competent with you. Get top end buffs and good energy armour and Parawan nut cake and damage reduction food and if cash runs to it some PSGs. Its doable solo but its not easy...

The trick is walk to the first lift, go down, unlock the lift from the 'meeting room' (if this trick works, if not eastern engin room and unlock it), walk to the 5 way (I'd approach from the east which means backtracking from the meeting room) - then take a deep breath, hit burst run and get down the lift to the prison code room, its a long way under heavy fire. You can rest up there for a moment (usualy or just keep running), then into that room (the machine is on the right as you enter, double click for the code) and back up both elevators to the top floor. Then parawan nut cake should get you to the prison cell, type in the code and die inside the room - you can then rez yourself with the ring and talk to the NPC imediatly (that completes the quest).

If you die after getting the code but before getting to the prison then you can sometimes make it just on blind luck and fast legs - remember you can use lifts while incapacitated and they can't DB if your not on their floor, this is a good way to clear agro (but risky). Having an allie can be handy, as you leg it to get the code he can run to the other lift - you'll split the mobs and with good co-ordination you should be able to tell him the password just as he gets to the pannel. More fiendish plans such as you both aim to get incapacitated at the other end of your respective lifts, then the code getter kites agro on both floors to leave a clear run for the other, or one of you aims to rez the other.
