I think it would be much easier for you to take a step every 20 minutes then to have the devs change this.

agree.

you dont even need to take a step, just set up a macro to stand and sit for when your planning on being stationary for a long period of time.

Not sure for some other commands like /stand .. /sit .. any emote ...

Any emote (or at least anything with an animation) resets the 'log out timer'.

/setIntimidate Whatever;

/macro macroname

You dont even need intimidate, and this command runs in the background. You can do anything with it on, and you never get logged.

i agree. especially when the standard for any program not to time out is by keystrokes/input. to have to remember to run your afk macro just because you're chatting, or tohave something running every minute you're connected, or to have to remember to run itagain after you /dump to dump another macrois.. bleh

ummm.. do you not remember the post that recursive macros are going away? besides, i shouldn't require a macro to keep me logged in when i am sitting at the dang keyboard. the fact that my character is logging chat or logging tells should be enough to keep me logged in. i mean, if use my yawn macro i can stay in all day and never be at the keyboard. but i am to be punished for NOT using a macro AND being at my keyboard typing because i am not actually MOVING? that is just ridiculous...

This 20min auto-logout is about to drive me in-freekin-sane! If i stand still for 20min i get disconnected. Forget about the fact i was having a conversation, forget about the fact i was placing over 400 items on a vendor that had gone unsuccessful to the vendor stockroom, and forget the fact that i was rearranging inventory in my house, let's just disconnect him because he isn't actually moving around!

This is absolutely ridiculous. You can NOT remove recursive macros until this gets fixed. No more 20min stationary auto-logouts! If my character is sending tells, chatting, working with a vendor, etc (all things that require a player at a keyboard using keys and clicking on the mouse button) then i should not have to fear being logged out. it's one hing for a stationary player who is doing nothing to get logged, but this shouldn't happen in the middle of a conversation, not ever.

Actually the devs said that they are going to remove macroers, and that they would change the way you are considered afk. They did not say they will remove recursive macros, that is just an assumption people make because they didn't read the devs statements fully/think about what they wrote. Your not punished you just are logged out, and again just take a freakin step forward every 15 mins. You complaining about this issue(for whatever reason definitely isn't rooted in the issue)when it can be fixed by you taking a step every 15 mins, isn't a decent reason for the devs to work on it.

Well, I have a macro to keep me in the game so I don't auto-log.....but i've noticed a strange occurance 3or 4 times. I once traveled to mo and while I was waiting for the load screen to disappear, my girlfriend come in the room wanting some attention ***wink***......ok, so she jumped me real quickand I didn't have time to put my auto log macro on.....anyway, long story short, I wake up the next morning (about 9 or so hours later) and my toon is standing in the same spot where he landed. no movement, nothing...being that me and my girl are the only ones in the room with the door locked and my son is asleep......I'm wondering why I didn't get auto-logged out in 9 hours.....unless there was a ghost playing my toon while I was sleep...hehe, I just shrugged it off.

Well, about a week later, I had to make a quick dash out the door to go pick up may son from school.....forgot to put my macro on again....I was gone for at least an hour or more (bad traffic) but when I got home, again I'm still logged in the game and my toon is standing in my house where I left him with the crafting screen up and everything. Still didn't get auto-logged out.

This has happened a couple more times since....I don't know how or what triggers it....but I needless to say, I wasn't disappointed that it happened... It's just weird how I didn't get logged out.....oh well.

I've heard it has something to do with the server load at the time.

I support removing combat classes if keeping them in results in a "dumbed down" game
