Thread: 360 degree screenshots?

Many times I've wanted to take a 360 screenshot of my surroundings. When I hit Ctr + O and view the keymap, it says to take a 360 degree screen you press: Ctr + Shift + Scroll. What does the scroll mean? I haven't gotten it to work yet, and I've tried a lot of times. Does anyone know?

scroll-lock button perhaps?
for regular shots i just hit the print screen key, perhaps u can try ctrl-shift-print screen?
or an easier way is just remap the 360 panoramic screenshot command to another key-combination.

This function was taken out before the game was released. There is an old dev post on the matter, if you have time to find it.

that sucks, and i was hoping sony was smart enough to try out some apple software and finally realize sony's not da bomb. ^_^ QTVR's been around for ages....

You're able to assign this to a key in the options menu, but it doesn't seem to work. Anyone know how to do this?

It is possible to create 360º screenshots, I've put a few of mine of the download section of www.bloodfin.org, but you need external tools. Use Control+Shift+S in game to spin the view round then use a third party tool to take screenshots quickly and another to stitch them together. Unfortunately SOE were unable to license these tools for our use.

I'm pretty sure that swg has a tool to do this for us. I just can't figure out how to get it working.

It's in the manual but it doesn't work and I believe somewhere the devs commented on that.

They disabled it, I believe they had something about it in the patch notes last year, not totally sure though....I read so much, I tend to forget where I read stuff...LOL. so until they give us a new tool to make those 360 degree screeies, you have to use an external media or picture editing program that can capture screen shots and sticth them together resulting in the final 360 degree screenie.....however, those 360 degree screenies are awesome!

I believe it requires some 3rd party video capture software. It isn't really a screenshot anymore, but a video, I think.

I asked this back in July to the Tech forum and got the ans they were nota usable function.

There was an issue about lisencing from Apple as I recall.
It's not perfect, alternative but you can do pretty well with ctrl-shift-s and FWRAPS.
