I Do I Edit My Thread in the trade forums to let everyone know that an item has sold ???

Forum editing privileges come when you upgrade from "New Member" to "Community Member" or higher. That happens after 1 month after forum registration (which it looks like you've got) and 50 posts. You also get it at "Sr. Member", which is 2 months of registration and no post count requirement.

Board ranking system.

So once you get 8 more posts under your belt, you'll qualify for the next rank. However, there have been ongoing problems with rank upgrades, it may take until the next forum maintenance (which seems to crop up every week or so, maybe around 3-4am).

In the meantime, I think a reply to your auction thread stating that the item has been sold should be sufficient.

Oh, and once you are able to edit, you do it by clicking the "options" button at the top-right of your post and selecting "Edit Message".
