I understand this rifle is a quest reward for completing Sordaan's hunting wagers. I went to Sordaan and he didnt give me the quest. Does it begin with someone else? Sordaan only said something about hunters in the Etyyy blah blah blah???

You get the rifle from doing one of his wager challenges. After you do some of the quest for his subordinates he will offer you wagers in which you have to kill a certain amount of creatures in a given time. The rifle is the 4th wager reward I believe. You get the Tchotchee pistol, calranoos carbine, and the Xris Acid Sword from the other wagers.

oh so the missions start not form Sordaan himself but one of his clan guys? ok anyone know what guys starts this?

Sordaan will tell you to talk to certain people in the camp. They will ask you to kill a number of creatures and collect an X amount of whatever they drop. Once done you return to the quest giver who will send you back to Sordaan, Sordaan will tell you who to seek next plus that he has a new challenge for you if you're interested. Rinse, repeat until the rifle is yours. Unfortunately, one of the quests is bugged now, a crate you need has an LOS bug so it can't be accessed, the devs know about it and is working on a fix. Check the patch notes.

thanks for the info...

I talked to Sordaan but he gives me only a canned response about hunters and poachers....no quest

There are more crates than are required to complete the mission. You just gotta look harder.

when i talk to Sordaan he doesn't give me anything to do, no talk to so and so or anything, just some quote about hunters and poachers over and over.....

how do I get started on this quest?

Try talking to some of the other rodians with the (i) icon over their head.

Let me expain....

Sordaan (sp?) will give you these hunting quests (timed) only after you follow several pre-quests in the etyyy.. you must complete several rodian camp quests, eventually they will tell you to talk to sordaan.

i think you might have to do a mission for him, after which he will open up and offer you a hunters "bet" that you cant beat his best hunters etc..

the crate with los bug cna still be accessed by dropping a well positioned cmap to remove the tree that blocks th ecrate you cna thne acces the crate in the camp

i didn't need to use that bugged crate. there is an extra crate somewhere in the camp.

Went back and looked again and you get it from doing the Etyyy Hunting Ground quests. Its a reward for completing the secondary quests where you bet against Sordaan that you can kill a certain number of animals in a set time period.
