i wasnt sure where to post it i didnt c a General SWG topic place but anyways
Lately many people i have talk to Actualy Miss the 1st begining of SWG, the good ol' days of No Armour No buff Mass pvp battles. Do you remember that days when no one had composite and pvp was a mass of imp vs rebs running around in bestine or AH on hills shooting at each other? Where it was skill not " oh i have my uber 80% kientic base and sliced composite with 80% everything else and 34% stun bla bla Krayt sliced rifles, uber acklay stun baton bla bla mind fire uber death mega doom LVA.
Well i do and many of us actualy do miss the days when everybody was basicly poor and no one ownd much. WE had an idea a way to make it so we can Re-live it, a new Server.. a "hardcore" server with sever Xp loss on death and maybe Higher Xp requirements and less or greater loot. All designed to keep noob days around for us to enjoy. (also make it so no one can transfer char to this server cuase it would be lame if they did) Maybe some of u can expand on this idea with me. ive heard of a ultima online server sorta like it but still, Alot of us miss those days (when i think about it my funest times was when i was a luaghing playful enjoyable noob.)
So Please People Who Agree with me on this EXPAND on the idea and spread it wasnt very sure were to post So plzFeel free to revise/edit this post or make a new one About.

hell yeah, that would be awesome. I came into SWG in the middle of May, and I want to PvP, but with all the 'UbeR l33t' Krayt Ion Riflesand Ackley StunBatons around, along with the crappy comments, it turns me off. This is an awesome idea, as i will be on equal footing along with everyone else, which is what i want.

I would totally relive the 1st month. that was back when i didn't care about all the bugs. i didn't care about the constant nerfs. Dathomir was almost a friendly place to visit. and if you killed a high level NPC, the loot was worth the time.
i remember freeking out when some guy hit me with a bleed shot...

not only will I five star you, man, I I'll relate completely...
let me wax ecstatic:
A hill on Rori, outside the rebel base, five of my buddies and I just discovered you can do rebel missions from this spot and actually have folks to group with. All of a sudden a group of Imperials rolls up, and everyone goes nuts. The cantina empties, blaster bolts are flying every which way, and after ten minutes, we're all laughing at each other (rebs and imps both) at how much fun that **edit** was. I miss that, that was good stuff.

I miss a lot of things from the old days. There were some awful bugs I'd rather never have to put up with again (like redeeding the factory after every run) but things were a lot simpler then. PvP was fun, no uber templates and no uber gear.
People used spice, because buffs weren't abundant and those that existed were not typically as good as they are now.
Almost no one used food (which I guess is bad) but it could still give you an edge.
People used pets!
I remember the first time I saw a guy in composite armor, I was like "Whoa! What the hell is that stuff?"
People would hang out in camps to heal and they'd chat and share stories and experiences. Camps were useful back then and so were scouts, for more than just hunting.
We walked everywhere. Yeah, vehicles are very convenient but walking 3k or more to get somewhere made it feel like most of the planet was wilderness... and it was. There were little enclaves where players would settle, some even had great shops, but there was no urban sprawl.
Dantooine was a scary place for most people, not crawling with buffed and armored solo groups. Cavemen would kill you with one hit. And there was no lag there.
People went to cantinas to see entertainers... who were actually there. Everyone knew your name and people did their professions because that's what they liked to do, not because some little blue box told them to.
People pursued the elusive goal of Jedi, but they did it by behaving in ways that were sensible to someone who wanted to be considered a candidate. They were lofty souls, adventurers and altruists, they didn't murder every humanoid they found hoping to get a loot drop.
Ah, there were a lot of good things. If we could turn back time and just fix the bugs, it would be so nice. But the Devs have let the genie out of the bottle and there's no getting it back in I suppose.

I was here from day 3 , and the old days SUCKED.
You guys are just typically remembering things the way you want.
I enjoyed the old days more because the game was new ... things like seeing water were super fun.... its all old and booring now.
BUT The games much better now and PvP is so muchbetter .... the best PvP'rs are the ones that have put in the effort ... notguy that exploites and hides in his house while AT-ST's attack and kill everything.
CHPets and AT-STs were godly , and there was ALWAYS ubber wepons .... maybe you didnt know about them because you were bone armor wearing newbs ... but there use to be a HELL of allot better weponsand armor during the first 3 months of the game .... before the Year long nerf of everything.
I use to go kill 20 krayts a day solo with no effort ... on ocasion Id loot a Legendary or exceptional wepons or tissuesup to 300 max dammage .... some if the stats in these things are completly insaine .... 1800 DOT bleeds to mind and stuff like that.
with the tissues and double power handler thing ... I use to have FWG5 with 900 - 1200 max dammage and .7 speed .... one shot kill everyone... not the same guns which i still have ... are medigated ,,, and peopel wearing armor and buffs suck up like 98% of the dammage.
the game is more dynamic now and much better.

Sad but so true. This game almost feels like a single player game, with everyone off grinding xp to fill those fs boxes - and this after everyone was off grinding through professions to open up that fs slot. The whole Jedi thing should have been what it is now from the start (minus the xp grind). No game should ever be a grind.
To get back on topic though...would I relive my first month of swg? Yes. It was way more fun back then. I've toyed with the idea of starting a new character on a new server, but I'd only be fooling myself. Besides, if I'd have known about SOE's lies to their customer base, I really doubt I'd have ever played in the first place. It still amazes me that SOE increased the number of professions required to make jedi without a formal announcement or denial. It was great that many of the holo-grinders breathed a sigh of relief and just played the game instead of continuing the seeming endless grind to unlock that elusive fs slot. But here again, SOE announced a "new quest-based system." Well they did deliver that, happy to see. But to grind out enough xp up to 32 times the amount it would take you to master certain professions to even open up that slot?
Somehow I don't think that's what the player community was left to hope for.
I'll keep hanging on though. Just like everyone who comes to these forums looking for help or knowledge. I wish I had more positive things to say. The graphics are awesome. heh

Yeah, I would definitly relive it, was such a fun to get to know new friends, to have all cantinas filled with playing entertainer, medic center where doc were needed.
Also I liked the battles between AH and Bestine, was a lot of fun.
