Thread: Something I am really happy about (no flamers allowed)
After that everywhere I went were realistic shadows and reflections appeared! This is such a huge improvement in the immersiveness and reality of the SWG universe, I LOVE IT!

I noticed that if I enable the AA/AF setting in launchpad Options a LOT of stuff has a nice metallic shine to it again. Big example is Chitin armor. It looks mirrored like shiny metal now instead of dull plastic look.
This setting degrades performance on alot of machines though so maybe not a good idea to enable for everyone.

The new lighting is great. I havent gone to dath yet but I sure hope lighting works there again.
Nope, Dath is still in the dark at night.
I personally haven't noticed a difference, but I have most of the graphics turned down.
I'd like to know what kind of graphics card you're using, because on my computer the new lighting is atrocious. The shadows in Coronet are way too dark, anyone darkened by said shadows looks cartoonishly bad, the colors of the various landscapes are washed out, Tatooine at nighttime is completely ruined...Mos Eisley at night is almost as well lit as it is during the day. I drove up a hill near Eisley and looked down at the city at 1:00 AM game time, and it seemed to be completely lit up by some invisible light source. In fact, it never really looks like nighttime on many of the planets. The way the light at sunset subtly changed the color of buildings in Theed is gone, now they just get really dark...I could go on and on.
Maybe it's some sort of incompatibility with many video card drivers, 'cause I'm not the only one who hates the new lighting, and I can't imagine anyone seeing the planets the way I'm seeing them and thinking that they look good.

Has anybody noticed the new lighting effects put into the game? I first noticed it when I walked into Cornet starport and saw the shawdow moving across the ground from the sun. Then I saw the brilliant gleen off of the metal droid body.
