you can talk to the jawas too...
I'd really like to see them add Huttese so you can argue with Jabba

Jabba understands basic. Oh, and huttese is a bit difficult to speak if you dont look like a realy bigsnail with a frog-head.

in the cantina, Greedo was not speaking Rodese, he was in fact speaking Huttese. since I am rodian I think I should be able to speak Huttese too

I had this idea for languages. In Final Fantasy X, you learned whatever language that was by collecting "primers" which I assume were like books that taught you the language. They would be medium-rare drops, and there would be a decent number of them for each language. That way, it's a bit harder to learn the languages and our +100 comprehension would be worth the skill points. I suppose a player wouldn't have to do this, since most everyone speaks basic anyways. But if you want to know what those 2 rodians are saying to each other behind your back, you have to work for it. I figure it wouldn't be such a big thing for the majority player base to accept.
Of course, the Dev's would have to wipe all the languages that people already know outside of basic and their native language(s). Do you guys think most people could live with this?

sure.. they live with that in other games.. their native tongue and a "bsic" or common language. dunno why they made it in swg so cheap ass easy

yeah shame learning languages has no difficulty in swg but its part of swg culture now so it will never change

Languages should cost a skillpoint each (except basic and the native language). That way they would _mean_ something.
