Generally, weaponsmiths on our server will put a min/max powerup on an unsliced weapon to show the potential damage if you were to receive a good slice. It can be helpful and save you the time of figuring out it's maximum potential.

If it's on a presliced weapon, I can see it being kind of sleazy. If you are a somewhat regular weapon shopper, you should know the general damage ranges for weapons on your server. I.E. If you see a 700 max damage T21 for 50k, you may want to scroll down a bit and check for a power up.

Just pay attention to what you are buying before you do. A few seconds of evaluation can save you future grief.
