Thread: Noobish Questions (from someone who hasn't played since november)

Since EP III and a some proding from friends inspired me I decided to give another crack at SWG.

Unfortunately there are a few things I either don't remember, or am oblivious to, so any input would be appreciated.

Veteran rewards: Notably the resource container etc... If I claim this on one server, can I then load up a charcter on a different server and claim there as well? I seem to have a backlog of claims and would like my rage of the wookies mount. I'm playing on a different server than before, although that might change (I figured start afresh and then I realized that entailed being handed about 80k credits, and then doing missions at 400 credits a pop... did anybody think about this?).

I presume I could claim my mount creature thingy on multiple servers?

Has there been any rebalancing of ships etc..., either radical such that I'll need all new ships or that I'd get an equivalent to the /respec command for my ships?

Are there any websites that have character builders (that are up to date). Ideally including some calculation of CL but if not that's fine, even skill point distribution would be nice.

Force sensitivity -> jedi. Is this still grind grind grind from the village, and did they rebalance it with the combat upgrade (or did it become more viable from the combat upgrade)? I was hoping with the combat upgrade they would move this to a more JTL style quest + less grind + 3 week delay thing.

Does the search feature ever work on the forums? I'm presuming since its lithium it doesn't with any measure of reliability, but I'll ask just in case.

During the changeover did bio engineered food suplements get changed or broken (I mean existing ones the same way old weapons got adjusted), I have a couple of runs worth left over that I'd hate to delete if they're good.

Can I still use (I think it was like ALLOWMULTIPLEINSTANCES = TRUE), a multiple instance option to run two characters at once. Uh... probably not all that wise to do in space I grant but easier to transfer stuff over this way.

Have they done anything about the crafting people needing to profession 'grind'?

1) You can only claim a reward from a given milestone (3 month, 6 month, 1 year) once per account. So you can claimyour 3 month reward on Ahazi, your 6 month on Bria, and your 12 month on Chilastra. Each milestone does include all items from previous milestones. So you can claim a mini R2 model (a three month reward) on both Ahazi (using up the 3 month grant) and Bria (using up the 6 month grant). The exception to this "multi claim" are the "In the Field" items, such as the resource container. Once you claim an "in the field" item on any server, that particular item is no longer an option at later milestones on any server.

2) Not sure about the Varactyl. I though you could claim the Sorosuub (6 month reward for JTL, separate from the 6 month vet reward) on multiple servers, so the mount may fall under that same type of category.

3) Space combat has not changed with the CU. Although there have been new ships added. I think the Krayt gunship (master-level single person fighter for neutral pilots) may have been after November. And then there are all the quest ships with RotW. There may have been some small tweaking to component stats (I think crafted ones were adjusted to more closely match looted ones), so you may want to compare what you've got with the current "state of the art". I think that tweaking was limited to capacitors and maybe engines.

4) FS quests are pretty much the same. I'm not sure how much the difficulty compares to pre-CU, most of the reports I've heard on FS quest combat is that it's generally mobs with CL 75+, so you pretty much have to go with a double combat mastery or group (and even if you're at CL 80, grouping is probably needed for a few of them).

5) Lithium search sucks. Best suggestion I can make is to "refresh" your browser when you get the "too many searches", since that'll bring up the search you were trying to do.

6) BE Food supplements did not change (although there have been sporadic reports of crates getting converted to bad stats). Food did change, though, chefs are currently still trying to work out whether the nutrient tissues are still the best "bang for your buck". Some foods seem to get better results with filling or duration tissues. And tailor tissues did change, if you've got any of those left. Raw tissues got converted to the new stats, enhanced clothing retains the old (sometimes pointless) skill mods.

7) No idea on running multiple instances.

8) Crafting is still a grind. I think crafting xp gets the 10% "inspiration bonus" (new entertainer buff) to xp, though, so that might simplify things a little bit. But it's basically grab huge stacks of resources andcraft in practice mode until you reach Master or your hands curl up with carpal tunnel.

I can confirm you are still able to run multiple instances of the game

Alright thanks to both of you.

Since there seem to be people selling vractyls for a million credits or so I'm going to guess they are one per account as well.

Anyone know of any worthwhile character builders out there?
