Thread: Master Weaponsmith Seeks Info On Use Of Nak'tra Crystals

Well, the item description says it's valued for use in weapons...I've tried to see if it can be used as an enhancement for any ofthe subcomponents, but the filter says they're useless (i.e. they don't appear as a useable item for any schematic slot while crafting).

I believe they are only used in the weaponsmith quest you can get from the caverns. As I'm not a weaponsmith I've not done the quest but I'm sure that is what I read on the forums a few weeks back.

We dragged our WS down there, and there was a little mini-quest for him to do that took a pile of those crystals.
We got him the pile, he crafted a bunch of AMAZINGLY crappy knives (probalby the worst usable weapon in the game, seriously) and THEN he got the schematic to make some MORE knives with MORE crystals. So we got him ANOTHER pile and he is now making some really cool looking blue crystal knives. The stats still aren't great, but man, they're pretty.

I thought I read once there is some rifle thingy that can be made with them too?

You can get crystal rifles, but I've only seen the looted ones and they look kinda crap. To get the schem or somethng for them I'm thinking that it has to do with that Smuggler near Dr Kinesworthy, as he is after a crate of them. I sure would like one of those knives.
