I just looted a tracking device casing - second section on Test Center. This sounds like part of a new loot kit, does anyone know anything about these?

last dev chat they mentioned when someone asked about new loots that they liked the new loot kits and would think of putting more in or something along those lines
So i bet it is a new loot kit check the junk dealers

Aha, it does say that it's used in an auto-crafting kit. Also, it describes the tracking device as being used for tracking downed satellites. Maybe the new loot kits will have function instead of just decoration?

sounds like it. possibly some mission type thing. i guess we have to wait till more parts come. and like the other guy said, check the junk dealers.

if it says auto crafting kit or whatever it is a new loot kit
i just checked TC though and the junk dealer had no new kits so maybe the kits themselves aren't out yet, just the pieces

From people who have been looking through the .tre files, it looks like one of the new FS quests involves putting together a tracking device in order to located a downed satellite. I'm guessing that the item you've looted is a part you'll need for that quest.
