Thread: Ideas about reducing downtime, lets have a discussion

Lately I have almost completely stopped playing SWG, just check in to talk with the guild once and a while and grind a bit of cash for a ship once JTL hits. I'm not gonna say a word about content, but the time in which we can get back up to fight is a little ridiculous. Not much of a problem on the weekend, but school is starting up again for many and others have jobs. If anyone has a little time to just jump in and play for a little bit and enjoy themselves on a workday/schoolday, too bad they are out of luck. The various downtimes are way too long. How would these things improve them?

-At Master Doctor you get a new schem for the super buff pack (or some other) that drains the mind pretty badly but buffs all 6 stats at once (so with food/brandy this will be fast). This will elimate the insane amount of time spent waiting for doc buffs at the starport.
-Increase BF healing. Even at Master Musician while listening to myself BF took way too long to take down. There needs to be greater bonuses for bf healing for Musicians and Dancers alike. Also a group performing band flourish will heal even more making listening to groups more beneficial.
-Ships are fine now, wait is negligible and usually you get there while shuttle is still on the ground.

Are these ideas any good and does anyone have any others they would like to add?

Well for the idea of the super buff packs, it wont work because its just two fast for them to give buffs, even if it does cost alot. plus docs are really only valuable at master neway (for their buffings i mean)

And the entertainer healing, its good that its not, because if a master could heal alot faster than novices, the novices would never get any xp.

Wow....those are the whiniest suggestions I have ever heard!

Go play a single-player game if you think it's inconvenient to actually _spend_time_ having _other_players_ do things _for_ you!!!

Good doctorscan buff you in about 60 seconds you nitwit....

Instant BF healing -- why not just take out BF altogether, "sniper"....

Yeesh....

The problem is that you log on bike ride 2000m, Jump 2-3 shuttles, go to cantina for a few minutes, wait in buff line for a few minutes, get a 60 second buff, jump 2-3 more shuttles, bike ride 2000m then fight. This is a generic scenario that is pretty much unavoidable if you want to fight something tougher than a tusken raider or a meatlump outside of coronet. Add in the time waiting for your friends to meet you and the total is usually 1/2 hr to 1 hr.

Bottom line is if you want less downtime you can either fight meatlumps or play Battlefield 1942. This game is not for the casual gamer unfortunately. It could be with some changes but forget about that.

Mujadaddy you missed the point good job. Did I say instant bf healing? No I said larger bonuses, at Master Musician it was still taking me ridculously long, even listening to a group of 20 is slow. Good doctors may do it in 60 seconds, but there is still a line most of the time and that really adds up. Some people want to jump in and have some fun, without buffs and with bf affecting the buffs you can't anymore because only solo groups go now. What is enjoying yourself playing the game not part of the fun? It's more fun to stand around in a line in which nobody ever talks waiting for a buff than getting buffed faster and going out to kill?
