Through all the b!tching and complaining and crying about force run 3 nothing is going to be done about it. Force Run 3 does not need to be nerfed just something needs to be introduced that non-FS players can use that is comparable to it.


The thing here is that SOE is a doing a marketing ploy with Jedi and SWG one of the greatest trick SOE has ever pulled. They created this class to entice people to work to unlock it and level it. The reason is simple, it's money. That's all SOE really cares about is money. In order to unlock FS and in order to grind out an FS character you will need to spend some serious time playing. Months and months to be exact. The longer you play the longer you pay simple as that. Jedi will not be nerfed they will only be made stronger so that people will want to have that ability which to be honest isn't that great.


Jedi have only three things that if they didn't have people wouldn't want to be one and there would be nothing to **edit** about. The three things are:


1. Force Run 3

2. Ability to heal mind

3. Lightsaber


That is the only thing that makes Jedi even remotly worth a **edit**. It doesn't make sense that BH is a ranged proffesion and that Jedi own ranged opponents. Multi-Melee classes completely lay the smack down on the Jedi and they will run from them. There are a lot of negative things about Jedi that really suck and people fail to realize that.


The biggest comlaint by far and the biggest concern from people is not about their weaknesses but about one of their 3 strengths metioned above.


All 3 are justified however one of the 3 allows the Jedi to escape 90% of the time. It's not fun as a BH to track your Jedi down and lose more credits than you would gain only to have him Force Run away and then /logout.


BH's need to be able to continue the chase. There is one problem solver and that is the JETPACK!


The JETPACK is the anti-force run 3............ or could be if some changes were made to it.


First: Jetpack's must stay the same crafting wise that is. They are extremely hard to get and owning one is almost comparable to the amount of time it would take to grind from Novice Enhancer to Master Enhancer to obtain Force Run 3. 15,880,00 Jedi xp. You get about 1100 Per Rancer Killed so imagine having to kill 14,437 Rancors.


Second: Changes must be made the Jetpack. The changes are liste below:


-The Jetpack should be able to be activated while in combat or any time usine a command that could be hotkeyed such as /activateJetpack


-The Jetpack should have the same amount if hit points as the AV-21 speeder or more but should cost 2x the amount to repair as a swoop and diminish twice as fast as a swoop


-The Jetpack cannot be targeted. The whole theory behind Jetpacks is destroyed if a Jedi could saber throw and smash your jetpack that took months to create and build.


-The Jetpack must be wearable by all species and all proffesions except Jedi. This has to happen or BH will become the FOTM and people will start b!tching about JetPacks and BH's as well as Force Run 3.


-You must be able to shoot and perform specials while driving the Jetpack. This way the Jedi tries to get away. He has to kill you or risk being killed by you. Jedi can fight while using Force Run 3 it's only right for us to be able to do the same and it wouldn't work if we could only follow the Jedi while he attacks us.


-The Jetpack must move at the exact same speed as Force Run 3 and have the same amount of Terrain Negotiation. None of this slowing down up hills trash.


-The final Jetpack component should not be looted from the Overlord but should be a reward for completing one of the three missions that are for the DWB. (Bobba, Rebel, or Imperial) The reward should be given to the ENTIRE Group that complete the mission. Much like the AV-21 Speeder. That way the entire group or groups don't have to fight over the one piece that dropped off the overlord.




That's it. The changes listed are very easy to make and actually the coding exists already for most the changes. If there is something you feel you should add then add it.


Just make the Jetpack exactly FR3 only with a different animation whcih already exists! The crafting process in place already. The looting of the final component is the only thing that needs to be tweaked. How hard is that?


If these changes go into place it would stop the Force Run argument all together. Jedi will have a means of escape against those individuals that did not put the time or effort into trying to stop them. People will have something comparable to FR3.


What we need is a little help from the MAN TANKS!


Tanks please pass this on to the DEVS. It would be easy to implement and you can approach them with something such as this:

Force Run 3 has the community up in arms. We know that Force Run will never be nerfed and we beleive that nerfing anything especially at this point is bad for the game. If FR3 is nerfed people will not want to play Jedi. It's one of the motivating forces of why people wish to play Jedi. We believe that the people need something compable to FR3 and we believe that the answer to the FR3 problem lies within the concept of the Jetpack. No Jetpacks have yet made it to live servers and can be changed before they are truly implemented as the crafting process is currently bugged. We suggest the changes ABOVE be made to the Jetpack so that BH's and other people actually have a chance to catch the Jedi rather than curse under our breaths in anger because they all got away. The Jetpack is not easily attainable and will only entice people to play longer thus making SOE more money which is the sole purpose behind SWG and SOE. Please implent the changes we have requested as they will be easy to make since the coding for all the changes currently exists. Just a little tweaking to the Jetpack is all that needs to be made.

i loged onto testcenter yesterday and in the patch notes it says that the main guy in the DWB is droping the final jetpack componet now,and he is suppose to drop it everytime he is killed.

I have posted this in the Jedi and BH forums and it is seriously flawed. The concept would not work unless only a BH is able to use and only when he is fighting his Mark. But even that is still flawed because friends can still pull tricks to get the pack working and then go PvE. It wouldn't be good for people to be able to kite every PvE animal they come across.

I have to strongly disagree. FR3 is the reason Jedi is so strong in PVP. The ability to get out of a attackers range so quickly, heal, and then come back makes FR3 a great offensive tool. The only thing you would be doing is make it so MBH or Jedi are required to PVP, becaues otherwise, you would never be able to catch anyone.

worst idea ever...


the jetpack will be disabled by the time you find/track your jedi.


my swoop almost has as much hitpoints as an av-21


not to mention there arent any garages on yavin, endor or dathomir....where most jedi go to hang out.

I see quite a few problems with your idea, although I commend you for trying to come up with a solution.


Problem 1: If your idea went ahead, everyone would be a jedi or BH because of either force run 3, or super speed jet packs. What about the rest of us players out there? The whole game isn't based around Jedi and Bounty Hunters.


Problem 2: You say youdon't want your jetpack to be destroyed after it took you months to build,what about thejedilosing the masses of xp per death, possibly even up to a point of no return. Ifyour idea is implimented,jet packs would beglass.


Problem 3: Have you ever seen a force run 3 in action? It doesn't matter if you were twice as fast as force run with a jetpack, you wouldn't be 'in range' long enough to do anything about it. "Now ya see me, now I'm 250m away, now you're coming for me, I'm back where I started".


Problem 4: If jetpacks are available to everyone, there wouldn't be any pvp, just a load of warping, even in areas with no lag at all, in the middle of nowhere on open flat land force run 3 is more of a teleporter than a run, and even when it does go smoothly, if you can get a few shots off without seeing "Your target is out of range" and then shouting at your screen, "No he's not! He's right on front of me!" It would be a miracle.


Yes something needs to be done about force run 3, for the sake of generalPvP, or maybe the whole FRSfeeding on regular players is the problem. Either waykeeping in mind, just as people don't want to see so many jedi about, I guarantee you there'd be an uprising about Jetpacks too. Either too many people would have them, or you wouldn't be viable without one.
