Thread: Composite armor for Zabrak stat migration?
Just a helpful post here.
Armor SUCKS!
Sorry I just had to get that off my chest.
I am Zabrak and went trough this battle recently myself. With the new composite armor and a master smuggler you can get a full suit on easliy, and it is sooo worth it.
You need to have a composite made that has ~42% resists. There is a HAM cost reduction at this lvl and again at 35%. Migrate all your 2ndary stats to at leat 400. I had to bump my focus up to 500. If you can wear everything but the bracers and gloves (unsliced), you should be all set. Find a master smuggler and hope for some nice encumbrance slices. I had 7/9 pieces sliced for encumbrance, so I have 75-100 points left in 2ndaries when i have the full suit on.
Then, figure out the macro for equiping armor so you can do it with the press of the button.
It tooke me 3 armorsmiths and 1.5 million credits worth of armor to figure this out.
Thats exactly why Im not sure if I want to try this. Im a zabrack also end I just went through trying to get my padded armor all sliced and on. Of all the pieces I got slice only 3 were for encumb. I think its stupid that they dont allow the smuggler to choose if he wants to slice resists or encumb. When I go to buy composite if I ever do I will make sure its sliced for encumbrance.
The other thing that seems to suck is great I have my padded on, its all around 23% resists, but after about two special shots my action pools gone. It seems like Im no better off with armor for Pve, I dont do PVP.
So there are Zabraks out there with full suits on?
I'm a Zabrak doctor and the reason why I bought a set of composite was that I figured being able to buff my health and action stats would enable me to equip pretty much any kind of armor easily.
It seems to be a bit buggy though as I couldn't equip the full set even though my mind stats are at max and my health and action stats are buffed 1000+.
And yet without any buffs at all I was able to equip even less pieces so it seems the armor was recognising the buffs but only up to a certain point.
The way I equipped the full set in the end was to buff fully with Enhance pack Ds, take a neutron pixie (spice), which enabled me to equip all but the helmet (9 mind points short), wait for the pixie to wear off and then take a muon gold (another spice) and equip the helm.
The armor will stay equipped even if the buffs and spices wear off so it's just a matter of buffing again and maybe taking more muon gold to get those stats out of the negative.
And is it worth it in the end? I think it is for me as being able to buff health and action stats means there are no penalties tomy special moves cost or regeneration rates while I'm wearing the armor. The only downside is not being able to do anything about mind except constantly take spice to buff it. Standing in the middle of a bloodbath puking while all your team mates are dying around you because you don't have enough mind to heal them won't win you many friends ![]()

Did they make wearing armor this tough on purpose?
So basically if I could wear armor because of the penalties I would undergo it really would only be a cool factory, and this time composite cost to much to be a cool factor.
I'm a Zabrak using sliced padded armor. I can get it all on except for the helmet.
Try using SPICES. They give you a momentary high (boost in stats) during which you may be able to put more armor on. The trick is, you can't take it off. After the high and subsequent low from the spice, your stats will return to normal. Technically, you shouldn't be able to wear the armor, but you've already got it on and no matter if you die, you'll keep it on -- this will not be the case once insurance is turned back on if you haven't insured your armor first.
I use the spice Muon Gold to boost my mind stats and Neutron Pixie to boost my action and health.
The problem with Zabraks is that one of your secondary Health attributes (don't remember if it's Strength or Constitution) can only go up to 400. Most composite armor sets, even sliced, will be above that for the Health encumbrance total, meaning no matter how much you stat migrate, you won't be able to wear the whole thing.
The only thing you can do is to hope that when you get it sliced that the smuggler is able to reduce encumbrance on each piece by 30-35%. If that happened, you'd probably just be able to wear that armor, but you'd have to do a lot of migrating to secondary stats to do so.
It'll take a lot of luck and a lot of patience, and probably money,to get a high protection rate full set to be wearable.
