Thread: Quick Creds for New Players

Last night I stumbled across a really easy way for new players to earn creds quickly with very little time or credit investment.

I was trolling the bazaar looking across the galaxy for starship components. I noticed a lvl 5 part on sale for 300 creds. That stats were awful, but I realized I could sell it to the Starship Chassis dealer in the starport for 5k creds. That's a an increase of over 16.5 times my original investment.

So I conducted a little experiment. In Moenia I bought a few parts for about 12k. I turned around and sold these for 28k! I doubled my credit investment in a matter of minutes.

In case any new players don't know, you can sell a looted starship component to an NPC called the Chassis Dealer inside the starport by the ship terms of most major cities.

He pays 1k cred per level of the component. The level is visible on the examine window of the part. When you are shopping, look for a part who's level is above the priceof the part, as inmy example above.

Now be warned, you can't sell player crafted components at the Chassis dealer. If there's a "Created by" name on the examine window, it won't sell to him.

I've been playing since launch and I'm in the 10mil+ cred club, so this amount of creds is pretty insignifigant to me and a lot of others. But for a starting player this would help greatly.

I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this, but I haven't seen it posted here before.

Nice tip for the newbies - next time I see someone begging for credits, I will tell them!

They do? That sounds like a bug. One of the parts I bought in my experiment was a lvl 9 and I got 9k for it. Odd.

I generally like to sell them on the bazaar for 1k per level and have made pretty good returns on them. I've notived most of the people that have bought them are most likely shipwrights looking to RE them for better parts. For new pilots that are Rebel, take the time to fly around after completinga startermission and hunt for tier 1 TIEs and tier 2 TIE bombers. You stand a really good chance of looting lots of parts, getting valuable xp, and earning a few extra creds. Wasn't long before I was making a couple thousand creds from looting cred chips, making anywhere from 10k to 30k from selling looted parts, and helping shipwrights out with providing parts for RE. Also looted several hot components I outfitted my fighter with.

That is the price that the Chasis Dealer pays 1k per level

True but I help other players to get parts they may need for ships or SWs need for RE. It's more for helping the community rather than personal fortune.

I agree with Devil_Tiger... I think everyone should sell as many parts as they can on the bazaar. It helps a lot of the people that are just starting off with JTL get inexpensive parts rather paying the huge amounts that some shipwrights charge. Also as mentioned before it helps people get parts RE'd.

since you have 10mil to spare, why not give them some cash?

why not go up to some newbie, talk to them and then give them some money. it makes you feel good

i do it all the time. biggest pay out was 100k

To win in PVP one must cheat, exploitz, hackz, and above all, have other pals that do the same. Once the foe is defeated, then go "OMGZZZ UZZZ SUCZ, LERN TO PLAY"

And so forth!
