Hi All,

Here's what I want to do..... I want to join the Rebellion and relive much of the fun and excitement of the movies by hunting Stormtroopers (instead of kreetles). I want to progress up their ranks and meet Leia, Corran, Wedge, etc.

But, there are two things I *don't* want. I don't want to deal with Imperial PKillers or get gunned down by stormtroopers every time I need to hit theMos EspaCantina.

I know there are "covert" and "overt" faction memberships. I understand that being "covert" removes me from the PvP portion of the game, but will I be so covert that the computer-controlled stormtroopers don't recognize I'm a Rebel? Or will joining the covert Alliance paint a target on my chest and make neccessary trips to town an unbearable hazard?

Being covert means that to everything in the game you are just an average person with no affiliation. That means that opposing players cannot kill you unless you accept a duel and the opposing faction mobs are not aggro toward you (unless they are aggro to everyone). That means you can be a covert rebel and walk up to any imp in any town without worrying about being attacked constantly. However this also means that you can no longer use any faction perks that you may have bought, such as pets or special weapons or armor.

Good. Follow-up question -- if you stay covert, can you play both sides at the same time and be both a covert Imperial and a covert Rebel?

Basically, I want to meet the interesting characters of both sides (Leia, Vader, Thrawn, Wedge, etc). Can I do this with the same character, or will I need two?
