You need to be using specific crafting tool like a weapon/droid, clothing/armor, or food/chemical tool next to a larger crafting station. For every 10 points you have of experimantion you will get 1 point to apply to the variables of the item you are crafting.

May want to also consider using the Holocron ( CNTRL + H) while in game. A lot of useful information in there that usually goes unused. Good luck!

Ok, like the first guy said, you need to use a specific crafting tool and not a generic crafting tool and stand next to a crafting station of the same type.

So if you want to experiment on a stimpack, you'd have to use a Food and Chemical Crafting Tool while standing next to a Food and Chemical Crafting Station and then once you've put all of the resources into the schematic, you would get the option to Experiment.

When experimenting you'll be able to put experimentation points into different categories that will effect different attributes of the finished product. Experimental Effectiveness will raise how much damage a stimpack will heal andExperimentalChargeswill raisethe number ofcharges a stimpack will have.

Another very important thing to remember is that thequality of the resources you use will have a big effect on how good the finished product is and how much better you can make it by experimenting. To find out what kind of resources work best for what you are making, open the crafting tool and the schematic you want to check and look at the bottom right corner of the window and you'll see stuff like:

Experimental Effectiveness:

Overall Quality: 66%

Potential Energy: 33%

That means that if you want to experiment on the effctiveness you'll want to use resources that are high in OQ and PE.

If you have any other questions, just ask...

Some of my pet peeve bugs:
•Armorsmith protection layers were not converted with the CU.
•Ship Details window does not close when you click "Travel" resulting in the message "You have lost the target. Closing interface."
