hi,

I'm still a bit green, and have a few questions about Clothing and CAs.

for these examples, please concider the following;

a) Cloak; 670/1000 condition, +2 one-handed-weapon-speed, +1 intimidate

b) Clothing Attachment;+2 one-handed-weapon-speed, +1 intimidate

[ie the same skill mods]

q1. My main question is which of these is 'more' valuable? [and why]

q2.Will the cloak still work once the condition is 0/1000?

q3. Will both skill mods work the cloak?
q4. Will both skill mods work the CA?

q5. Once the cloak is on 0/1000, will I be able to take it off and put it back on?

q6. If I owned both items [with the CA on another item] would the bonuses stack?

q7. can I wear the cloak over armour?

thats all fow now, im sure I'll have more once I understand the answers to these

thanks all

From my own experiences...

a1: The attachment since it will allow the user to place it in any clothing of their choice.
a2: The cloak will still work but this is a bug and will eventually get fixed (I hope).
a3: I think so, I haven't tested it though.
a4: see a3
a5: Yes, but this is a bug and will hopefully get fixed
a6: The bonuses will stack up to max +25, anything after that is 'wasted'
a7: Kind of, as long as you don't put on a chest plate

Some more on the q6...

Your skills are usually maxed at 125, so if you have a skill of 70 and +55 from CA it would have the same effect as having a skill of 70 with +60 from CA.

thank bugeyed4

I've read your answers and read this excellent guide;

q1. My main question is which of these is 'more' valuable? [and why]

a1. CA

q2.Will the cloak still work once the condition is 0/1000?

a2. yes as of now

q3. Will both skill mods work the cloak?

a3. yes

q4. Will both skill mods work the CA?

a4. yes

q5. Once the cloak is on 0/1000, will I be able to take it off and put it back on?

a5. yes as of now

q6. If I owned both items [with the CA on another item] would the bonuses stack?

a6. yes

however, the SEA guide above does NOT list a cloak as something you can add SEAs to. It therefore doesnt mention cloaks at all, leaving this question [which bugeyed4 didnt answer fully];

q7. what armour can I wear a cloak over? [bugeyed4 says NOT a chestplate]

q8. someone in the SEA guide said clothing at 0/1000 etc cond NO LONGER worked since Pub10. Is this true? And if not, is there any news about when this fix will come about?

q9. Can a cloak be repaired? If so, is it 'risky'?

again, many thanks for helping this noob!

a?. a cloak is a clothing and there for a CA will work on the cloak

a7. you can ware the following armor pices when you have a cloak on you: gloves, pants, boots, helm, ubese armor shirt

a9. if the condition is 0/xxxx or -x/x it wont be can not be repaird ells its just to use a repair tool from the bazar and it ther aint none ther just ask your friendly artisan to make one, there is always a risk when you repair clothing, armor and weapons. the risk is lower for vice crafter (tailor, armorsmith, weaponsmith) but its still there.

1) I'd say the CA, can be put wherever you want usually a shirt, cloak is usually not so good

2) At this time, yes, but might get fixed

3) yes

4) No. Once you put it into a piece of clothing only 1 of the 2 will work. Usually its the +2 1hd speed (because its the higher mod). If the piece already has +2 or higher one-hand speed in it, the +1 intimidate will work

5) same answer as 2.

6) yes, up to a total of 25 each

7) a cloak takes the slots of Chestplate and arms, so you won't be able to wear Chestplate, Biceps and Bracers.
