This has probably been posted a dozen times but I'm gonna do it again. It's very frustrating when you grab a pair of missions and some noob is blasting away at your lair when you get there.

Here is how you tell the difference between a mission and a natural spawn.

If a lair is labeled with a creatures nameit's a mission. LEAVE IT ALONE!

If the lair is labeled generically like "A mound of dirt" it is a natural spawn and is NOT a mission. Go for it!

The labeling system in this game needs some improvements to be sure.

And what is up with that smell?

What about random Imperial spawns? I sometimes get several camps stacked on top of my missions on Rori when no one is around.

Keep in mind, when people don't finish a mission, the mission will sit there indefinetley until someone clears it.

So what you say is true, 50% of the time. It was a mission at some point. However, if nobody kills these spawns, I don't think they go away, and pretty soon, there wouldn't be any random spawns LOL

The identification of mission vs spawn lairs is not as clear cut as the name of the lair, there is often a lot of wild spawn lairs that are named the same as mission lairs, many missions also spawn several wild lairs of the same type and name nearby, and a lot of the time there are defunct mission lairs that the owner couldn't complete and has freed.
There is also lot of people playing and hunting, many of them in the same locations as others, and bluntly if someone's mission drops on top of me while I'm doing mine, I would be also wipe out yours since same type creatures group up like a faction. If you are finding that the location you are at is causing you to lose too many missions to other players, then need move to another location of the planet and try using player placed terminals, these locations often ensure you not be disturbed by others.

I do agree thou that there really needs to be some clearer way to define an active player mission lair or some way to make the creatures temperately untouchable while the mission is running, similiar to the space missions..

If you don't want your missions wiped out before you get to them, then do them from someplace that is mostly empty, such as the Agro Outpost on Dantooine. When I do missions from there, any red con thing between me and my mission dies. I've probably hit one or two mission spawns at most that way and no one has ever come by while I was doing so.
