I notice that many people have HTML in their signature but everytime I try to do a signature with HTML I get the message "you do not have permission to use simple HTML in your signature" How do I get permission to put HTML in my signature?

You can not use HTML in your sigs anymore. People who have the HTML in their sigs did it before the HTML tags ability was banned.

How sure are you about this? I edited my sig only a couple of days ago which has some very basic HTML in it (a few links, a horizontal rule) and didn't have a problem.

I get the impression that the HTML filter is selective - you were never able to use table tags, for instance, and the moderators withdrew the ability to use style attributes in tags (I've often come across attributes I couldn't use)... perhaps there are still a few tags that can be used?

I'd suggest having a little fiddle with your sig - first try emboldening a bit of text, then adding a link, etc.

Perhaps also there's a connection with your forum rank... maybe the filter is more strict with newer members than vets/elders?

i believe they only nerfed the glowey style tag

This is correct. I'm sorry for not being specific. The style tags were banned but basic HTML like fonts and colors etc.. can be used. Sorry for the mess up ( I always assume that people are talking about the glow effect etc..).

No I just tried to color my signature and it gave me the message about no HTML. Maybe I better screw around with it some more.

Ok looks like I was able to get it to work. Nothing amazing but it is the first time I ever used HTML so I am pretty proud of myself.

because of of some one in our galaxay that figured out how to post images in the forums and they had to disable html, and then banned that certain individual
