Shadowfire is definitely close to the smallest - we are the newest server, too. Only a few days after release that is.

Big is good, because you can meet a lot of people, but that means lag.
Small is good, because you get to know a lot of the people on the server well, and I am guessing less lag.

Is there a way to tell which server has the highest/lowest population?
I am considering moving to another server and was wondering what the current player population is on each server. I have seen this service introduced with another MMORPG and what happened is that some servers population quickly went to nil and other servers had a surge in population growth. Personally, I prefer to be on a more populated server.
Thanks,

The server you are on is the highest.
No idea how to tell how many are on each server. SOE doesn't release this information.
Even if they did release the information it would be skewed. They wouldn't tell you how many players actively play on the server they would give some number of characters created or something.
The only way is to go to character creation screen and look at server loads during the times you normally play. This gives some general indication of player volume.

Thanks,
It's too bad that SOE feels they need to be so "hush-hush" about server population statistics.
