For Pete's sake, Merchant is the easiest skill to master - it's entirely passive. Just keep your vendors stocked and go do something else.
Do macros for this sort of thing actually exist? Why would anyone bother?

WIth the recent changes proposed for the Merchant profession, many many Merchants are pretty annoyed right now, so I wouldn't expect any of them to actually help you quasi-cheat for Merchant experience. In fact, I would expect most of them to berate you if they see your post.
Now, assuming that you want Merchant skills so that you can actually sell things... just place what vendors you can, stock them with whatever you're selling, and do something else for a while. I would strongly advise against placing an entrance fee on your shop; personally, I despise entrance fees, *especially* the ones for 1 credit, and 99% of the time I turn right back around and leave instead of helping someone who's trying to quickly grind out the Merchant experience for a badge, etc.. Most of the time, the vendors inside that 1-credit door were empty anyway, further helping someone grind out experience without actually selling anything. That brings me to my next tip: if your vendor is empty, GET RID OF IT. With the current state of the Merchant profession and the vendors in SWG, few things annoy players more than driving all over a planet checking vendors just to find that 80% of them are EMPTY.
If you're not going to actually sell anything, do not put up a vendor, do not list that vendor on the global map,do not set an entrance fee for your shop, and do not take Novice Merchant.

You need
10 naboo style 2 houses small they use 1lot
10 friends
around 3hrs of gaming time.
Build all houses in a nice row somewhere deserted
Put an access fee of 1cr on each house you get 50 exp per house
10 people enter your house = 500 exp
10 houses = 5000exp
vendors = 150exp per person that checks
vendors = 150xamount of vendors per hour
it's not hard really just takes a little time

lol well with a macro it's slow because you can only get the experience every 15mins the more vendors you have the faster exp goes.
i think it's something like this
/stand;
/use;
/useVendor;
/sit;
/pause 900; (900 is 15mins abouts)
/stand;
/pause 3;
/macro vendor;
not too sure tho

you get xp the longer your vendor is "drawn" on the world. yes, you get more xp from people visiting your 1cr entry fee house and pulling up your vendor. All i did to master merchant was put a small house with all my vendors in it in a high traffic area. Then, the first thingI did each play session,I entered my house and viewed each of my vendors (ensures you see your xp). I did the same again before i logged off. I never sold anything and my vendors were always empty.
I know i could have done better with more than 1 house. And if i sold something i could have had more customers entering and viewing my vendors. I completed merchant in 16 days (i had about 5 guild mates who traveled that area enter my house each time they passed it)
