I am considering investing in some Dot Weapons and was hoping someone could explain the stat on DoTs

Strength and Potency

I assume Strength is how much each tick damages the target, but by how much. Do the secondary stats reduce the damage from Dots?

Is Potencythe % chance of the Dot affecting the target? Do you have to damage the target for the Dot to effect.

I am thinking of getting a setof disease, posion, and fire dot mind weapons. Will the effect for the different weapons stack, and will they stack with the mind bleeds of Swordsman?

Can Dots be placed on higher end mobs like Krayts and/or Nightsisters?

I believe the answer to ALL your questions is "yes," except that secondary stats don't reduce "ticks." Also, there is some debate on how exactly the mechanics of potency work.

Disease, poison, fire, and bleeds are all different states that can be applied to targets. FYI, currently jedi cannot cure fire, although doctors can. Different, and especially high-level, targets have different resistances to certain states.

Hope that helps...

DoT's can be placed on anything, higher lvl mobs will have higher resistances to these tho but there is always a 5% chance of it sticking. The higher the potency the more likely it is to stick (might affect tick time too).

Bleeds will stack, but u might have to use 2 kinds of bleed ie /healthshot1 and /healthshot2. Several bleeds of the same type might not stack tho im not entirely sure.

Gl on getting the weapons
