Thread: Nostromo Speedpad mapping

I just picked up a Nostromo Speedpad N52 to use with a mouse combo. (I hate the lack of 'free-flight' with joysticks.) One thing I've been unable to map is the D-pad to hat-switch functions. I'd like to use it for view panning while flying. I'd appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks

ive been using a nostromo n50 for almost 2 years now, and have never been able to set the d-pad to hat switch functions in jtls. in other games ive had to re-map the key set-up in game to fit the keys ive programed into the d-pad. jtls, from what i can figure out, doesnt give the option for a free-look in keyboard mode.

but this is something that i have wondered about as well

n52 eh? gonna have to look into that one....

I love my N52, upgraded from an N50, but I havent even tried to simulate the pov hat on it. I have it mapped all for the ground game.. great for crafting though

I can post my profiles, dunno how useful they will be though..

Basically I have this:

  1. Special 1 Special 2 Special 3 Special 4

  2. Inventory Backpack Character Screen Skills Window

  3. Planetary map Overlay Map

  4. Hot Key to speeder bike Mount Macro Dismount

  5. Loot Macro (/loot;/harvest hide)

  6. Datapad

  7. Empty

  8. Empty

  9. Empty

  10. Empty

  11. Switch Weapons from Pistol to LLC with Macro to change tool Bar Panes Switch Weapon (no tool bar shift) *handy for when the macro flubs up*

  12. EMPTY

  13. EMPTY

  14. EMPTY

Round Button: Cycle Next Target

Thumb Button: Pust to talk Team Speak

D-Pad

Up Red, Down Blue, Forward Green, back Cancel all running macros (Momentary Shift States) So Special 2 is UP +1 Special 3 is Down +1.. Special 4 is Forward + 1) ect

I need to rearrange it and add some new stuff in, I just reworked it last week and am still trying to figure out what works best. All of the empty buttons arent nesicarily empty. I downloaded the SWG one from Belkin and used that as a starter. If you want me to export the file I can just PM me with an email to send it to.

I have a second profile that is a crafter Profile basically button 1 - 4 are crafting kit macros (With select draft Schematic) the round button is <Enter> and F12 which corresponts to a crafting macro to finish crafting. So you hit 1 , click ingredients and het the round button to finish that session, hit 2 add ingredients, and click round ect. This takes out putting a puase in there to add ingredsients, which to me either i waited for it to finish cause i clicked faster than my pause, or my pause ended before i was done making me frusterated. The enter also will let you recover from a crit fail, which was annoying with a one step macro (pause to add ingredients)

I came up with a generic setup for my N50, that puts the customization on my hotkeys. I can use use F1 - F8 and their shifts for any hotkey level (i.e. 1 - 6). I can email the profile to you if you'd like, but not until next week. (On training this week)

Basically, here's my setup:

KeyMap

01 - Red Shift (See below for Red Shift mapping)

02 - F1

03 - F2

04 - F3

05 - F4

06 - Green Shift (See below for Green Shift mapping)

07 - F5

08 - F6

09 - F7

10 - F8

F9 - F12 are not used on the N50. I keep these keys the same across all hot key levels. By levels, I mean Ctrl+1 level, Ctrl+2 level, etc. I use these for stimpacs, brandy, maskscent, etc. No matter what level I am on, these keys are the same.

Directional Mapping

Up - Shift (used to give access to Shift + )

Down - Alt

Forward - NumLock

Back - Tab

Warning - sometimes if you try to press Alt or Tab and do not press it cleanly (i.e. down and back instead of just down or back) you will Alt-Tab out of the game.

Red Shift Mapping - Changes hotkey level (1 - 6)

01 - Red Shift

02 - Ctrl + 1

03 - Ctrl + 2

04 - Ctrl + 3

05 - Ctrl + 4

06 - Green Shift

07 - Ctrl + 5

08 - Ctrl + 6

09 - N/A

10 - N/A

Green Shift Mapping

01 - Red Shift

02 - Ctrl + I (Inventory)

03 - Ctrl + D (Datapad)

04 - Ctrl + E (Email)

05 - Ctrl +P (Community)

06 - Green Shift

07 - Ctrl + V (Plantary Map)

08 - Ctrl + S (Skills)

09 - Ctrl + C (Character)

10 - Ctrl + M (Overhead Map)

I like flexiblity this gives me. The customization is on the hotkeys. I use level 2 for crafting and travelling (travelling is mount, dismount, maskscent and conceal). Level 3 is my interaction level (i.e. bow, greet, lol, etc). This may not be the best approach, as you will have to change your hotkeys for different scenarios, but I tried to cover that with changing hotkey levels.

I am trying to figure out a loadout for JTL and how to change to it in game. (I finally bought it but have wait to get home to fire it up!)

If you want this profile, send an email to [email protected]and I'll try to get it to you next week or as soon as possible.

Hope this helps...
