I'm not sure if anyone has made sure people know about this.. but the guides I've been reading have been sayin resource quality does NOT matter, and that's NOT true, I just verified it myself and it's a very big difference. Here's my findings :
I experimented with two adult plants, after I had already found their ideal conditions.
Plant 1 - Normal @ ideal conditions of wet/low at the start of the experiment
Plant 2 - Above Normal @ ideal conditions of very wet/fallow at the start of the experiment
Two resource groups.
Group 1
213DR/668OQ Water
568DR/314FL/43PE/373OQ Nutrients
Group 2
991DR/892OQ Water
848DR/934FL/818PE/970OQ Nutrients
Sample 1
Plant 1 + Group 1 = Wet/Low/SLOW
Plant 2 + Group 2 = Very Wet/Fallow/ABOVE NORMAL
Sample 2 (To give the plants one extra update to adjust, just in case)
Plant 1 + Group 1 = Wet/Low/SLOW
Plant 2 + Group 2 = Very Wet/Fallow/ABOVE NORMAL
Now at this point, I already suspected that it did have an effect because of what happened to plant 1 when I used poor resources, then I reversed the resource allocation to verify my findings.
Sample 3
Plant 1 + Group 2 = Wet/Low/NORMAL (The plant immediately returned to normal growth once it was given quality resources)
Plant 2 + Group 1 = Very Wet/Fallow/BELOW NORMAL (The plant dropped two growth stages, just like plant 1 did in sample 1)
The bottomline of this is resource quality is VERY important, based on these findings and the resources used, we can estimate that the difference between using all0 quality resources and 1000 quality resources is roughly 3 growth stages.
Just thought everyone would like to know

Ouch now this makes sense (one dead Plant later)--
I used the guide and could not figure out why it was dying...
Then I changed water for a few tries-- I noticed it was odd but though nothing of it due to the guide
--
Oh well lesson learned--
Your right though, it matters.

i hope you're right. it might help me get above "below normal."

Just as a followup... I have drained and refilled all of my plants with the top quality resources which were previously mentioned.. and have seen improvements across the board.

Question is however which resource stat(s) matter. Only OQ or some more

That's a good question.. Although one I might not bother testing, I'd rather just play it safe.
