Greetings.
I am a returning player who last played over a year ago. A lot has changed and I thought it time to see for myself. When I left, I was a 12 point armorer based outside of Theed (player cities were fiction then). I had more credits than I knew what to do with, but I got bored. Grinding gear and hunting down resources was such a drag.
I want to shoot things with guns and punch things with my fists. That's it. However, I gave my credits away when I quit and obviously all of my structures have long since decayed. I do have a nice pistol and a nice vibroknuckler with decent skills to back them up. I need some new armor (I never made myself any but I found some padded in my back pack), and it looks to be around 210k for a set. I need to earn some credits.
I was extremely lucky to be needed by a Master Rifleman who wanted to train slicing, and sold her a couple of schematics for molecular clamps. But hell, I blew most of that money on swoop (how can I resist a motorcycle!?!). I can run missions at about 1.5k to 2k a pop, but that will take quite a bit of time... and maybe that is the answer.
I really appreciate any tips people can give. I'm a 4 point slicer, 4 point animal resource gathering type fool, as well as a master marksman and TK novice.
Thanks.

The fastest way? You've hit TKN, which is the hardest part (as many would say) during the grind. Theres a lot of good info on the TKA forums about how to level. You can master Teras Kasi, then use scouting skills and Mokk and Janta missions (1 - 1.6million per 2.5 hours), and big spawns (good Avian and Herbivore) can bring in buckets of money.
Until then Slicing should cover some costs.

Are "enraged rancors" on Dathomir?
What is a Mokk or Janta mission?
Where is the "Warrens" that I keep hearing about?
I've never been so clueless about how to play a game before. It's embarrassing really

rancors = dathomir
Mokk/Janta = Dantooine
Warren = Point of Interest (POI) Dantooine
I'd recommend some high end Ubese armor (70%+ kinetic resist) over composite. 1/3 the price and equivalent resistance. TK is very easy to master with buffs. Migrate your stats into your mind pools and use vasarian brandy, ahrisa, and vagnerian canape. Good luck and welcome back!

How do you get these Janta/Mokk missions? I only see Pikets and Huurtons. Do you have to be in a group? I'm near Master Marksman and my friend is a TKM. He should be able to see them even without a group correct?

No, youmust be in a group to get Janta/Mokk missions. You also need to have about 4 other people in the group (I think). They might be kind of hard if your only master marksman and if you dont have good armor (even if you do have good armor). There are usually a bunch of solo groups. Try asking around to join a solo group on Dantooine (in the outpost). Not sure which is popular outpost on every server, but on Radiant the popular outpost is the Mining Outpost. And Koorz, what server do you play on?

Basically... the course of evolution of amassing credits in SWG through missions has followed where and which areas have the highest payouts, before the dev's nerf those payouts.
As it stands... the highest mission payouts are on Dantooine, and Dathomir.
To access these high paying missions, you need to be in what's called a "solo group" ...which is basically a bunch of people, grouped, in order to up the difficultly of missions they have access to.
move people = higher diff = more moola.
on Dantooine... head to the mining outpost. there is typically little trouble finding one of these groups. get in one... you'll probably need in excess of 10 people in the group to get higher paying missions.
so, get in a group. hit the mission terminal. cycle through using the refresh button... untill 25k or 27k missions start to pop up. These are typically the cavemen missions on Dant. The cavemen have different names... Mok, Janta, Kunga, Dantari... they're all about the same. there's some slight differences in their tactics, and toughness... but nothing you'd really notice.
it'll be an all or nothing gig. either you'll be either to take them easy... or probably get killed.
what you'll need... armor. i'd go with nothing less that 70% ubese. ...kinetic resist. any decent server should have this for sale...for around 100k. 80% composite... typically runs from 200-400k depending on how greedy your server's crafters are. wookiee hunting armor now also can hit 80% kinetic. but prices on that.. can really flucuate. 150k--400k give or take.
also... Buffs. a decent set of doc buffs these days is 2500 per stat...for 3hrs. probably for 10-15k ..entertainer buffs are still nice. finding automated macros to do this for you... isn't that hard, depending on your server... and sometimes, if you're lucky, you can still find live people wiggle'n and playing tunes. 0k(if ya gip the bot)--10k for a set of dancer/musician buffs.
food is now your friend... if you played a year ago... you may remember how useless food was. well now... food can almost replace doctor buffs. ...and certainly can replace entertainer buffs. Vasarian Brandy, Canape, Synsteak, and couple others... they're pricy but they're useful.
don't forget the drugs. ...muon and pixie, still have their place. and on most servers, are dirt cheap.
so get your buffs, slap on your armor, get in a group.. and kill missions. the money will roll in, if you're anywhere near completed with an elite skill.
***
If you can't handle the mok/janta type missions, there are other alternatives. you can always take lesser paying missions using the above formula. most any profession can easily slaughter the quenker and hurton missions that can be had through solo groups on dant.. and it's decent exp... for finishing out that profession.
If hunting high level monsters is out of the question. and you have no real money to go out and blow 300k on armor, and 100k on a crate of booze. and pay 10k -20k per set of buffs... you'll have to start smaller.
try watching out for a rare quality organic resource... check your server boards... finding something for 30-50cpu isn't that hard, and often times...regardless of which planet the special item is spawning on..there's something that drops/skins that meat or hide or whatever... that's easy to kill.
you can turn small profits quickly this way... it just takes some time. ...once in a blue moon something exceedingly high qual will spawn. 50-150 cpu. ...those can pay out quite nicely. ...so do a bit of checking for that sorta stuff... if you have mid range skills and armor.
Or. there's always the tried and true...resource whoring. Lok wild wheat, Tat fiberplast, ...almost any ore in high #'s will sell fairly easily. If you used to be an amorsmith you probably know all about harvesting. but lok wheat for example. 1000 units for 6k is pretty easy to fetch on any decently populated server. you can usually start a mining operation for as little as 10k ...and have it start turning a profit soon after. increase production, increase proffits.
I use this tactic almost exclusively on brand new characters... running one harvestor.. buying energy. selling resource... getting additional harvestors, and a power plant. ..untill eventually it's self sustaining, and i'm constantly at my bizzarre cap selling wheat... pulling in 100k + a rotation.
Bank a couple 100k unit blocksof lok wheat... as a small nest egg, incase you ever loose a lot of credits, get scammed or whatever. 100k wheat. is easily 400k credits. if it happens to be a good spawn. payouts increase. but lok wheat always sells. even on ghost town servers you can get 6k for 1.5-2k units of wheat.
hope that helps...

Don't forget to put your auctions up in a highly populous area, such as Coronet. Or wherever the most people are on your server.

If you gonna do TKM, take hurrton stalkers, they are 70k XP+ a lair. For reference, in a solo group, there 10k missions.
If you can't take them yet, Savage Quenkers or normal Quenkers go down fast for reasonable XP. Also for reference, these are about 3-8k missions, depedning on if your hunting savage or normal quenkers, also in a solo group.
Both of these are on Dantooine.

I play on Radiant, Furon.
I know that most people won't see this, but I have found the most helpful sons of guns in this game this time around. I tell people that I'm relearning everything, and they say (paraphrased) "Cool, how can I help?"
This is just great.
