Dont bother with grinding jedi have fun in the game first. Go and master a few profs and experience how good SWG can be before you fall in the jedi trap

Thanks Jib, that helps me out alot, now I can actually try and visit some POIs and maybe get some badges.

Right now I am a brawler, artisan, marksman and medic.

I have almost a level 3 two-handed weapons guy, almost to novice swordsman I think, I cant wait to get there to check that stuff out.

I think I might get rid of artisan because I really dont like surverying for stuff, it takes forever, etc.

I was wondering, you have a certain amount of points right, so whenI open a new profession, like my main one, brawler I use up points, but does leveling up inside that profession cost points too? Like could I become an expert at everything brawler now that I have that profession and not use up points or is that useless? Should I just stick with one or two, I'm thinking unarmed and two-handed if thats the case.

What does migrate do? Does it recover time and effort from skills you have but dont use so you didnt just waist your time or..?

Because I think I wanna give up artisan. I do like medic tho, its cool to heal your friends, and marksman sounds like it opens alot of doors, or would scout be better, haha, sorry guys. So how exactly does migrating work then?

Thx 4 the help fellas

Every skill box requires spending skill points. So Novice Brawler takes 15, Swords 1 takes 2, Novice Swordsman takes 6, etc. You have enough points to completely Master 2 1/2 elite-level professions (with some leeway depending on whether they share prerequisites). So you could be a Master Swordsman / Master TKA with some scout, Master Rifleman / Master Swordsman (but you won't have too many points left for other skills since Rifle / Sword branch off of two different starter professions).

I'm not sure what you mean by migrating. If you're talking about skills, you can immediately surrender any skill box as long as it's not a prerequisite of another skill you have (so you can't surrender Rifles 3 and keep Rifles 4). Go to your skills information sheet (ctrl-S on the default keymap), highlight the box you don't want anymore, then click the "Surrender skill" button. This immediately frees up skill points that you can spend in other areas. However, you do not gain back any xp you spent to learn that box.

Most of the POI's are empty anyway, so they aren't dangerous (due to a bug).

You need to get 2 handed 4, then an extra 125k for Novice Swordsman. It is really fun.

It is.

Only get skillpoints in brawler of the things you want to be better in, because everything cost points. You can master Teras Kasi, Swordsman, and have loads of skillpoints left. Do whatever you find fun.

Migrating stats is done by an image designer, and you can make it so that your pools recover quicker. All of then are important (the main pool, recovery rate, and how many points it costs to do specials).

Medic is VERY helpful. Pick it up for sure. I would definitely pick up scout and marksan. Just have fun with them, and if you need more skill points, drop one of them, the one you don't want or have less fun with. Lol, migrating has nothing to do with professions, except that medic should have high mind pool (stims need mind), marksmen and brawlers want high health (people are hit there most often) etc...

Hi everyone, I have read the guides to becoming a Jedi and also the guides to get glowy, they are very straight forward, however they are not very detailed.

I have been playing for about a week and I have no clue how these badges thing work, heres my situation:

I don't have any badges, as a matter of fact I think I'll still to weak to do any real missions, I could be wrong about that but I'm in a wierd place where I don't know if I should venture outside my tattooine area, yeahI have alot more experiace already then when I first started but when I went to another planet for like 20 minutes a damn little sheep looking thing was kicking my ass so I still feel inadequate, so now I'm back in tattooine.

What should I strive to do before I leave again, or am I just being weak?

Another dumb question, I don't even know how to initiate a badge POI (point of interest?) quest. Is it a mission? do I just wander around until I find it? Is there a waypoint or something? How would a new player even know these things exist haha.

I think I need to buy a stradegy guide or something.

Thx fellas.

No offense? Sorry not accepted. If you can't tell learning the game dynamics is exactly what I'm trying to do. Yeah I could be just walking around everywhere killing stuff, but I decided ot get a little foresight and make sure that things that I'm doing are going to be productful, I don't like wasting time, thats not saying that I think this is gonan be quick and easy, I definatly don't think that.

FYI I have the manual, the collectors edition manual and I have read them both thouroughly, I just cant put all the pieces togeather that quickly. I might invest in those other PRIMA guides too if I get nothing but responses like yours, sonny.

Your best bet is going to be to hangout near the cantina in Mos Eis and join a hunting group. Have someone in-game show you the ropes, get leveled up a bit. Also hit crtl+h in-game to bring up help menu. Slow down a little bit, Jedi is a long way off, have fun with other profs first the might like them more. By the way, POI are waypoints in datapad specific to the planet you're on.

Gotta agree with the above, set jedi aside for a few months. It's going to take you a year to do anyway so just enjoy the game for a bit.

Use Ctrl V to open your map, double click on the Points of Interest tab on the right. If you see one that looks interesting, go check it out. Right click the POI name and select Activate Waypoint. It will help if you have a speeder but it's not 100% necessary. Most POI's will give you a badge for checking them out (but not all POI's give badges and there are 2 location badges that don't have POI's). You can see your badgesin CTRL C onthe personal tab or CTRL P on the Character tab.

Speaking of waypoint, open CTRLO options and go to Misc (ithink it's misc) and make sure that the Onscreen Waypoint Monitor is checked (trust me on this one).

Also, you'll need to work on mastering whatever your profession is before youreally get to fixated on jedi. CTRL S willopen your skills window and on the left hand side, second box down you should see an Experience Monitor, that will let you watch the skill xp you're working. I'm not sure what profession you chose but you will find info on it including ways to master it in that professions forum.

Good luck and remember to have fun.
