How do I change faction? I currently have 3000+ imp and -1500 reb. Am I able to change, and what should I do about my faction points first?

start taking missions from a rebel terminal. if your a smuggler its easier.. if your not its a long grind back.

Steps:

1) Go to your faction recruiter and request that you wish to leave your faction

2) Acquire +200 Faction rating in the faction you wish to join (number of ways, the long way: run faction missions, the short way: buy the faction points from a smuggler)

3) Once you've achieved +200 faction request to become a member of that faction

If you can do solo group faction missions. When I decided to go from Reb to Imp I was -3800 Imperial and +4000 Rebel.

The first thing I did was convert the positive points into xp by using the Training option with the Recrueter. This brought me down to +200. I then solo grouped and ran the hardest fp missions I could get. It took about 4 hours of gametime, just grinding from a player city mission term. I find that using a player city faction term was the fastest method. Most player cities are easy to move around in and the mission spawns are usually just outside the city limit. So most missions were 600-800m away whereas npc cities send you out 1800-2000m or farther, so a large penalty time wise. Doctor buffs and armor certainley help too.

Do I need to be a reb to do the reb theme park? Also, can I hand the cries of alderon disks into reb coordinators to gain reb faction when I'm not a reb?

I would say the easiest way to change factions is just to buy FP from someone. I cant remember how much the going rate (200cr per FP?) but its a lot easier than grinding to get positive FP if you're really negative.
