Hi all.

My friend has very recently purchased SWG, and at the moment, its not running fantastically. Can anyone give us some hints on how to make it run a little better? We've already:

1) Installed DirectX 9c

2) Installed the latest drivers for his Radeon card

3) Formatted his computer before installing SWG, and defragging it after installing it

Oh, and its a Pentium 4 2.6ghz with 256 of RAM. The card is a Radeon Mobility 9000.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well I only can give you an pretty expensive hint:

Expand the ram to at least 512MB better 1GB

Not too cheap but the only possibility to make it run better.

Thats the problem with notebooks. Easy to transport but bad regarding updates...

Yeah it is absolutely the RAM. Go to at least 1Gb.

even at that to run really smooth you need to have the settings not too high.

I know. Thatswhy I spend a fortune on mydesktop PC!

Unfortunately, at the moment, the laptop is all he can make do with...

Anyone have any ideas about what to turn off and down? I'm guessing the answer is "everything", but can anyone be more specific about what he can leave turned on?

particles is by default maxed.. Turn this to its lowest setting. Helps quite a bit. Turn off floral. These two settings helps greatly with video lag.

I know floral is an ingame option, but is particles an ingame option?
