Thread: Where is Thunderheart?
he was supposed to talk to us at some point this week and i have yet to see him post anything on the SL forum, has he? or are we going to have to go another week as iggnored as ever?
the only mention of SL in the dev chat was from a player... the devs didn't mention anything about us (as per their norm)
I did see TH mention in a post last night that he was going to try to get through the "rest" of the professions next week... so perhaps we'll be in that group.
here is the only mention of SL I saw in the dev chat:
*TimTheSloth* It has been over a month since the smuggler profession has had a specific developer comment directly or through our correspondent. When will smugglers and other neglected proffessions (SL, DE, Chef etc.) be able to hear specific answers to the issues and known bugs we have to deal with? Is there a program set up for regular reports from developers to correspondents?
(Thunderheart_) I am currently working on a program with the Player Correspondents. The Correspondents gave me their feedback on reporting and we will have something in place by the end of next week. Once we get the process in place I encourage you to work with the Player Correspondents to get all the issues to the forefront.
Actually, during a long thread on one of the main boards several weeks ago, Thunderheart promised squad leaders that he'd be posting another thread "later in the week" to collect information on our issues.
I can find it if you really want to see it.
Needless to say, there was no corresponding second thread.
Agreed with Vem, they use this strategy in many of their dealings, but most noticeably with Jedi. The carrot is so big and juicy, but no matter how hard you reach for it, it's always exactly two inches away.
Regarding calendars, a day on Mercury lasts something like 180 Earth-days... that would explain a lot.
started this post on Wednesday but am just now getting it up on the board:
I was very angry off when I logged in today and checked the dev tracker. Thunderheart has posted twice to the Commando Top 5 thread, but we as squad leaders are still ignored. Enraged, I started this post, and then I hit the advanced search engine to gain ammunition for my rant. Here is what I found regarding posts made by Thunderheart on the professions forums, and other forums:
Squad Leader - 4
Commando - 3
Bounty Hunter - 1
Pikeman - 4
Chef - 2
Combat Medic - 2
Swordsman - 3
Smuggler - 1
Armorsmith - 0
Weaponsmith - 2
GCW - 24
SWG Discussion - about 240 (since October, around 420 total)
Dev Forum - about 60
I was shocked! According to the # of posts made, Squad Leaders and Pikemen have gotten the most "love." Thunderheart has posted our to professions 4 whole times! This really deflated my balloon. I kept thinking while I was checking the next profession, surely he has posted a lot on the commando forum, he posted twice today! Bounty Hunter's get all the updates so they must get all the "love." Pikemen are almost as messed up as Squad leaders, let's see how much love they get. And on it went.
What have I learned from this? It's not that Squad leaders are ignored and get no love, it's that ALL the profession boards are ignored and get no love! We actually got the most! There is something fundamentally wrong with this. Everybody is asking to know what is going on, and nobody is getting feedback. Even the two posts to the commando top 5 were about how Thunderheart is a commando and feels their pain. The poor armorsmiths haven't even gotten one post. At least post an acknowledgement that you have received our top 5 and are working on it. Communication goes in two directions and feedback is a vital part of any communication. You wanted to know what our top 5 is, we told you, now you have to acknowledge receipt of that communication, and restate it so that we know you received it. Then you need to say, "This is what is going on." in as specific a way as you can.
Apparently if you want to get feedback from a dev you have to post in the SWG discussion forum. We are told that this profession board is monitored, and it is, the proof is in the locked threads. How about a little positive quality feedback that the good ideas presented here are being heard? The only feedback we receive right now is locked threads. How is this community relations? Well it is community relations, just not good community relations.
This lack of communication is really torqueing people off, just look at the signs, read the posts, understand what it means. Let us know where we stand and what will be looked at to fix the profession.
