Ok, I got the force glow when I type /check at noon on tuesday.
99% of the people in my guild who have the glow have been visited, except me, and one other person.
I ask this: am I missing something? I have the glow, will the old man show up?
I've heard two rumors: You need to master an elite profession (something not Artisan, Scout, Marksman, Brawler, or Entertainer). I have mastered nothing but marksman and artisan. However, I DO have the glow.
The second rumor is that there is a cap on the village, meaning when enough people get access to the village, the old man stops visiting people. No one will get a visit until someone finishes the village and a spot opens in the "population" if you will.
Are either of those true? Am I missing something? Or am I on a list and just have to wait until it's my turn (and how long do I have to wait)?
And want to stress:
1. I'm NOT complaining about the new system.
2. I'm NOT saying I am more diserving than someone else to get a visit from the old man.
I am simply just frusterated because I thought I would have been visited by now, with my understanding of the system. Some one PLEASE tell me how this works. ONce I know how it works I won't be frustrated any more.
Thanks guys!

If you /check and you are glowing then you ar ready to meet the old man. What you need to do is make sure you are out in the wilderness away from any players. He will run up to you and then you can start a convo with him which leads to you recieveing a force crystal (aka your quest journel). Make sure that you don't have anything agrro on you or the old man won't talk to you or so I have heard. The old man talked to me after about 24 hours from unlocking my glow. I guessing it will be another 24 hours till i getattacked by the Sith guys. Well, hope this helps.

He came and saw me a few hours after posting this.
Don't be like me, don't worry about it being bugged or a village cap. Just keep doing what you are doing, stay off your speeder or mount, and he'll show up.

This may seem a silly concerned, but talking in guild chat won't affect it will it? I've heard normal speaking will hinder your chances of getting the old man invite.

I don't think so. At the time the old man showed up, tons of people in my guild were cracking jokes and bashing the old man, and then POOF, he showed up.

Grom:
Sadly, there's nothing mysterious about glowing, but it does mean that there aren't any shortcuts. You're not going to get it by wandering on Lok.
I went from nothing to glowing in two easy days. Read the the "Guide to Glowing" in the Game Guides section - it is accurate, and it worked exactly for me.

So here's my question. Has anyone been visited by the old man who did not master more than a couple non-holo professions and did not have enough badges to glow on day 1. So for example:
Someone is a master pistoleer with some random skill boxes in other areas. They've done a couple quests and POIs but when they typed "/check" after logging in on day on of pub 10 they were *not* glowing.
So far all I've found is folks who met the glow requirements on day one of pub 10 have gotten the visit (either via massive holo-grinding or having done lots of quests and POIs).
I spent 3 hours wandering on foot last night on Lok and Dathomir, nothing. Don't mind wandering but want to make sure folks in a similar situation are getting a visit.
Thanks,
Grom
