Thread: SURVIVING the Corvette?

There are plenty of Corvette guides, and plenty of people who'll take you on a trip to the Corvette. But most people go there to grab loot and get out. I've only been up once, long ago, and this is what I was told:

"Always walk, don't run or the mobs will aggro and kill you instantly. Don't wear armor and don't bother fighting. You'll end up with three completely black HAM bars once you leave, but if you're lucky you might get some loot."

I'm planning on heading up this weekend since there seems to be a lack of anything else to do now that I've mastered my elite profession. I want to go up with a small group of close friends, and I'd like to know if it's possible to do the Corvette the way it seems like it was meant to be done. Is it possible to get through, tryng to avoid combat, but actually fighting the mobs that attack you first?

My group will be MBH/pistoller/carbineer, TKM/CH/flamethrower commando, Master Pistoleer/Smuggler/TK, a Master Doc, and possibly another commando.

So, will we survive with some proper forethought and tactics? Or is this just another waste of my precious time?

Depending on which mission you do, it is possible to take the team you mentioned up on the Corvette and accomplish the mission without dying.
You do not need to avoid all combat, but I recommend avoiding getting into a fight with multiple Super Battle Droids.

It might be tough to do the assasinate mission with that team, but I bet you could do it.

Here's some hints that are useful on some of the missions:

If you get aggroed by a mob you do not want to fight (like a group of 5 SBDs) run to an elevator and go to another level.
After you move out of the elevator, you will still be aggroed, but they won't be able to shoot you. If several people do
this, they will draw all the aggro and make it possible for someone else in the team to move past them without going into
combat.

A smuggler can get the bridge code by slicing computer that has gold screened without using disk 4 on the upper level.
This avoids one more level filled with SBDs, although you miss a chance at some loot on that floor.

High resist electricity armor makes it possible to run through the electric field without repairing the droid. This
avoids having to run for spare droid parts, saves time, and possibly avoids aggro.

I find it works pretty well for one person to run past the SBDs in an engine room and hit the terminal. Then keep running
to the other engine room and hit that terminal, then run for the elevator. If you use synthsteak, decent energy resist armor,
high buffs, PSG, vercupti, you won't die and as a bonus you will draw all the aggro so your friends can move through that level with impunity.

On the destroy mission, set fuel to highest, everything else to lowest.

There are lots of other great tips and hints on the forums, but I can assure you it is possible to complete all of the missions
without coming back to the planet with a solid black HAM bar.

Yeah that's pretty much my strategy as well. being doc/fencer, with good energy/electric armour, vercupti, synsteak, center of being, and mind buffs, I can blast through first, not killing everything, get the bridge elevator open, set fuel and hyper drive, get the prisoner code or quarters code if that is the mission, and usually make it back down with my buffs if i can find somewhere to park while the team moves through while i hold the aggro. But I do have stims that hit for 3-4k+

sometimes on the rescue, I end up /dragging a dead team member to the guys, and rezzing him there. (You cant converse while aggroed)

I have not however, completed either rebel or neutral assasination without having a jedi to beat the mark down

Your team should be able to handle the human types, but the crunch is the time. It will probably take you to long to kill them all.

Theres three kinds of trip I take:

1.) Badge
2.) Kill mobs for loot.
3.) AV-21 loot

Although the more familiar you get with it, the more times you find yourself getting all the loot spots anyway

BTW, for the folks I see offering badge trips to the vette and warren for 100k : /spit

Im on ahazi and run it regularly if you want some help.

I'd also like to add, if you are engaged in combat, avoid all ranged area of attack specials as they will attract large quanties of NPC's, possibly including unwanted Super Battle Droids, which is exactly what you're trying to avoid up there.

Buffs, good composite (preferable energy), brandy, synthsteak, all necessary.

This is the way a friend and I do it. I'm Master Commando and he's Master Swordsman.

1. Don't attack anything, and with the new changes don't bother walking. They'll likely aggro you anyways now, so just run everywhere.

2. I go up the elevator, check the armoire for loot, and grab the disk while my buddy makes a run to unlock the bridge elevator (which can still be done without getting the droid part) and charges the fuel setting.

3. I come back down, get the armory and bridge codes and broadcast them into groupchat, usually at about the same time he sets the fuel.

4. He tries to get back out of the engine room alive but sometimes fails.... but this is ok, cause his job is done. I fly down the elevator, run up to check the double loot room, set the hyperdrive, run into the armory and check the last loot spot, and then go up the unlocked bridge elevator to set the engines. We're done, and I just run screaming past everything to get to the pods after friend's already ejected. Tada, badge, all loot checked, and more often than not nobody dies. Total time in the vette is usually about 10 minutes, so that Canape and maybe Muon I had to use won't wear off too soon.

That's destroy in a nutshell. It helps immensely if you know the layout of the vette without having to check the map.

Before Pub 10, either one of us could solo it including checking all loot spots. Since they changed aggro behavior, it's a lot harder and takes both of us now. It's also a lot more fun and definitely gets the adrenaline going.

I still have issues with the SBDs, and have to make a screaming run in there and hopes one of the teams makes it. not too sure on the resists of my armor, but they are in the 70s with a 44 PSG and 43 synthsteak, and brandy.

But the other night was the first time I got out of it with some life left to my bars. lol No loot tho have issues with the armory, but that is a different story all together.

I'm going there tonight and had two questions:

1. if someone in your group dies, do they clone in the corvette and can continueor is that the end for them? If they can continue, can you take all the time you want?

2. I have gone to Lt. Sabel(sp?) in Bestine and Colonel Darkstone and both say I am busy with something else, and to finish that before I can get anything from them? I am not doing anything else, and have no other missions in my datapad. Is this a bug?

I can answer question #1, if you die, you clone on the Corvette and continue, the bad side to dying is you lose your buffs and you can't rebuff. Also, if you're not insured, your items will decay like crazy, so insure before you go up (And you can die a lot without decay from dying from my experience). Even if you die though, you are sitll under the 60 minute timer.

OK, thanks!!!

If anyone has an answer for #2, that would be great.

i guess u startet a corvette mission (without completing it) and then changed sides in the gcw.

i am facing the same bug. i was imp before and then joined the rebellion

a search in the knowlage base brought up an entry wich states that ushould write a ticket and csr will review the situation.

the csr told me i should work up my imp faction (i'm nebel now with -5000 imp faction) and cancel the mission at the imp vette starter.

i added a comment to the ticket and asked if there is another way than doin 100+ imp missions

another csr rplied and told me to talk to a normal questgiver to get set free of my prior job, but this didn't work either

i am free for normal quests and can start new ones, only the corvette npc won't give me a mission

i wrote another reply to the ticket and i am still waitin for a new hint to solve the solution

Well I went back the next day and they would talk to me. it work, so I'm happy. But I don't know what the deal was. I had never done these before, and I have never changed faction.

read the vette guides and learn what you need to do.

Once you've done that, it is easy.

If possible get /feigndeath, then you can solo the destroy missions (I do regualrly for loot and to get people badges).

Once i get teh hero of tatooine ring, I iwll be able to solo the rescue missions too

The vette is easy, you just gotta play it right.

If you plan on killin stuff and not just walking past everything, keep in mind that when the original ticket holder dies, all the MOB's respawn.

What I've done that worked for me, get someone's alt to do the quest for the ticket and just leave him in the initial room. Don't move him at all. That way everything you kill stays dead.
