The mayor of my PA's city is leaving, and he was a master Politician. But since he left, we need someone else. If I were to take that position, would we still be a lvl 5 city?

Yes.

And you won't lose a thing. Essentially your city will stay the way it is. If you want to change anything (taxes, city specialization, trainers....) you will have to wait until the new mayor has the skills to do so. I was a master politician and have been dropping skills and we haven't lost a thing yet.

One thing you need to keep in mind - when you register yourself to run, every citizen needs to vote for you. Because by default all votes will go to the incumbent. Make sure that you have enough people to get majority of votes. Also, if incumbent drops all politician skills (including novice), but wins, the city might poof ...

Just looking for a little clarification here.

my city's mayor is cancelling his account, if we elect another mayor before he does this does city hall ownership, shuttleport, etc go to the new mayor. If i interpret correctly, the structures will remain, but the new mayor will not be able to move any structures or change any of the city settings until the mayor receives the appropriate skill. Am i correct in this assumption.

Thanks for any response

Kinda hard to answer that...

*Edit* No, I don't think it's true. You need Novice Pistoleer. *Edit*

Everyone used to be certified with it, that was back when it also did acid damage instead of energy. Some of the old ones are still around and everyone is certified with them..though they were converted to energy damage.
