I do not understand the whole solo grouping thing. I have just made TKM, and have read that doing solo groups is a good thing for me to do.
Can anyone please explain solo grouping to me? I have done groups before, but from what I gather, solo grouping is not like that at all. I mean, if you're going solo, why group at all? I am totaly confused about the whole thing.
Any help would be appriciated. Thanks

Solo Grouping is grouping with a bunch of people that go and do all missions solo. There are advantages to this. First, you get higher missions that pay more when you are in a large group. Second, the spawns of MOBS tend to be larger so you get more experience in less time. In a solo group you can get 31k missions for Janta and Mokk or spawns of 6 quenkers instead of two for a higher payout.

Mission difficulty, and therefore mission payout, is determined by your combat rating - so therefore a group will be able to handle tougher missions than one person.
A "Solo Group" is where individuals form a group in order to pull these higher difficulty missions and then they go off and do it by themselves.
For example, at Mining Outpost on Dant, the highest paid mission I can get is about 9K and that's usually for Pikets. In a solo group, the mission difficulty is raised and therefore I can pull 27K Janta missions. So when I go off on my own and complete the mission I get all 27K. So we group to get missions, but do the actual missions solo.
Ummm, that's all it is really.

First off, solo groups are not a "good thing". The only thing it's "good" for is farming money, it doesn't encourage the fun of going out with a band of people and actually interacting with others, the main draw of most MMOs
I do, from time to time, find it necessary to go out and farm money. I don't like doing it, and try to do it when a lot of my fellow guild members are on line, so I can sit in the guildchat tab and at least talk with people.
Here's how it works:
A large number of people (usually 5+ are required) group up, and start taking missions from the terminals on Dantooine (usually from the Northernmost outpost). You should be able to pull missions in the 27k range without problem. These are Mokk and Janta missions, with about 5-7 MOBs and their totem base at the waypoint.
If you're buffed and wearing 80% kin composite armor, any elite melee class can sit there and take any punishment these NPCs deal out. It's all melee, and they're all weak to melee attacks. You can just steamroller over them without any troubles at all solo.
So, what everyone does is pull missions, and head off in different directions alone. You complete your mission quickly (takes me around 6-7 min per set) and get all 27+k reward for yourself. If you have the RL stamina, you can easily make over a million credits in a single buff session running these, and max out your combat and unarmed combat xp for conversion out in Aurilia.
As I said, this is not how things are intended. These missions should be a challenge for a group of 5-6 people, not soloable, but this is how things are. Personally, I try to stay away from this as much as I can. I rather grab a group of people and have fun in group at the Geo Caves or NS Stronghold, and maybe get some loot/credits. If all you're in it for is materialistic wealth though, these do fit the bill.

Solo grouping reasoning is that in the game as it stands you get better paying missions the higher your overall group level (more people, higher difficulty missions, which means more xp and money on advanced planets such as dantooine). You get a 25% xp bonus for being grouped with 1-9 others, after 10 in the group you get 1% more for each after that up to 20 (which is the max for a group).
You essentially do exactly what you would do solo, but your grouped with others. Go do your own missions, loot your own kills, etc...

I find solo grouping good and bad at times. When we are hunting as a guild, solo works well to get lots of credits, faction points and creature rescourses quickly. It also helps the newer members advance quicker especially with faction or credits. SWG like irl is run by credits.
I have found it bad if you solo group with a bunch of people you dont know. Ive worked my butt off to kill mobs only to have some jerk that didnt help at all steal the drops. Stolen force crystals really get me po'd. The other problem is when I take missions on Dathmir that I can handle myself that pays good xp and credits only to find another group of jerks that wont fight but get close enough to me to "share" in the lair payoff. Last weekend I had a group of 4 follow me around to my missions and watched me kill 2 lairs before I relized what they were up to. If I wanted to do low credit payoff missions, I would stay on Tat or Corillia.

only thing i will say is don't randomly invite people to your "solo group", not everyone is interested in doing this - just look out for people advertising (i have lost count of the amount of times i have seen someone shouting "Looking for solo group" standing not 10m away from someone shouting "Forming solo group" !!

I do solo grouping all the time... and my reason for this.... NINJA LOOTERS...... prior the rewards poping up in system messages... I use to NEVER get anything or the chance to get anything..... this use to really burn my b*alls....
the frist and last kryat hunt I went on... BEFORE... player cities.... I was in a group of around 10 people.. and oddly enough... only the SAME 3 people keep getting ALL the rewards... after that night I said.. never again will I do group hunting with strangers....
And I kept my word... now I gladly join or start SOLO groups.... once the group is maxed, I go do my missions... get money and the joy of the occasional COOL loot....
As for group hunts.... only do them if you know the poeple well or if it is a guild.... in these sistuations, the loot is divided up OR it works on a system OF... your mission... your WP... your loot.....
Some tips:
Try not to spam CAN I JOIN A SOLO GROUP... instead send tell to a few people around the mission terminal, asking if they are in a solo group.. most will pass your name on to the current leader... and with in a few mins or secs, you'll be added.
Once grouped move on to a different town and put some distance between you and most of the group... this will insure that you won't move in to close to someone else missions (most people freak out lol).
IF someone take half your winning... LET IT SLIDE... who needs to get upset over losing some credits when even half of the earnings is still more then what you would be getting alone
If this happens you can ask for it back, just look to see who is the closes and ask nicely Or do what i do... forget about it and move on...
Pay attention to your group, the names to your left gives the distance to each person, just watch the numbers if you are really worried about losing money...
Make friends, group chat is a great place to make connections and new friends... since doing solo missions I have made alot friends and customers
well thats my rant.....

You want tips... here's the whole thing...
- Go to Corellia and get Entertainer buffs, and Doctor buffs.
- Go to Dantooine Mining Outpost look for someone spamming, "Sologroup, PST "Whoever" for invite"
- Send them a tell they invite you to the group.
- Wait till the group has 7 or more people in it.
- Take the shuttle to an "Improved Job Market" city on Dantooine.
- Go to the mission terminal and take Janta/Mokk missions for around 33,000 creditsin the same direction.
- Get on your vehicle, drive to the first waypoint.
- /dismount (you said you were a TKM)
- Target the lair and spam /unarmedSpinAttack2 till everything is dead.
- /loot the 4-5 corpses
- Go get 2 more missions.
- Rinse and repeat.
Also, there seems to be 2 schools of thought here. Either you just switch to your guildchat tab and say nothing in groupchat at all, or you can participate and gab away pointlessly in groupchat. ![]()
There you go. Make millions of credits a day, cap your experience every buff session at least once, and you're well on your way to Force Sensitive Exp as well as membership in the "I have way too much money" club.
