Is there a way if using the %TT variable in the group chat chanel?

When I type %TT in the spatial chanel it correctly reports my target's name.

But when I type it in the group chat (instant message) chanel it says %TT instead of the name.

I've also tried /g Attack %TT

but the text in the groupchat just says "Attack %TT"

Anyway to get this to work?
