When browsing a vendor with a lot of items, try looking for a button named "Next Items", it is almost in the lowerright cornerof the window. This could show you a whooping 100 more items. There can even be another "Next Items" button on this page, and another on the next so on and so forth.

This will save you a *lot* of time you would otherwise tell/mail the shop owner why he/she don't have this and that item followed byyour response -"ok, but what do it cost?" when the shop owner politely replies to you that you have to use the button in question.

Good post.

I spend a lot of time trying to explain this to people, as well as telling them that the column headings can be clicked on to act as a 'sort' function. You can sort by name, price, etc.

When I am looking for resources, this is about the only thing that helps to preserve my sanity.

Considering howoften vendorsand the bazaar are usedin the game, perhaps these techniques should be implimented in a tutorial for new players?

It's the reason I usually have either a sign (bone armour plate) or instruct my vendor to say "Please use the Next/Previous Buttons when Shopping!"

It's surprising how many people don't notice them.

I simply cannot believe how much trouble people have understanding the vendor screens. Everything you really need to know is right there in front of your eyes.

Personally, I don't think they should waste a lot of time and resources trying to fix something that isn't really broken, just because many people are unobservant boobs. They simply need to remove the unused parts of the vendor screen (armor powerups, anyone?), and possibly add some sort of text search if possible, so you can pull up all the items whose names contain the phrase "curved sword" or "scout blaster", etc..

Maybe they should add a bazaar terminal to the spaceship in the tutorial, and give players a small amount of cash (small enough that it'sinefficient tojust keep the cash and log in to stockpile it, or remove any leftover cash when you leave the tutorial), and have the bazaar terminal stocked with no-drop items, such as newbie weapons and a small assortment of clothing, medicines, and crafting/survey tools. These items would serve the very basic needs of every starting profession without doing much to hurt the economy. It would also force new players to go through the bazaar terminal tutorial in order to be allowed to leave the ship. They should probably also make the tutorial mandatory for every new character; I would presume that most veteran players go through the tutorial anyway just so they can migrate their stats before they enter the server.

LOL, took me a good amount of time to see the little [next items] button on the screen. However, I don't think the sort function works correctly, as it only sorts the screen you are on, in the bazaar anyway.

It's amazing how many people are oblivious to this button.

If you're looking for a specific item, be sure to use the tree-view on the left side of the bazaar screen.
eg, if you're looking for a Rifle, selects [Rifles], under [Weapons]. You may also want to check under [Ranged Weapons](also under [Weapons]) for older weapons(pre-publish 7? 6?). This can make things convenient when searching for the best weapons of your chosen combat profession.

But be careful, sometimes things won't be under what you would expect! A few tips to help:
-Full suits of armor are generally packed in Backpacks, and thus will be in [Wearable Containers], not under [Armor].
-Food, Medicine, and Spice are rarely unpacked from their crates. This makes things easier for both the merchant and the consumer. As such, look for all three under [Factory Crate].

You people have never worked in retail, have you? People don't notice things like signs or blatantly obvious indicators. Example:

I used to work at Blockbuster. One night there was a big lightning storm. Power was out all around the store for about mile in each direction. Power went out at about 6:30 pm. By 10:00 pm the safety lights had lost their charge and the store was completely pitch black inside, save for the flashlights we had. The street lights were out, including stop lights. Yet people continued to pull in to the parking lot, get out of their cars, and try to open the locked doors. When the doors would not open the clueless, would-be shopperswould cup thier hands around their faces and try to see inside. We got some good laughs from this.

So no offense, but if you think that someone is going to notice a button with it's purpose with it's purpose written explicitly on it or a sign near your vendor (though many people use those plating segs as decor) you're sadly mistaken. It's like the Refreshements said, "The world is full of stupid people."

I could write a book based on that phrase, but I'm too lazy.
