Thread: Jedi Starfighter Quest failed ATST what now?

I went to the grp of atsts, then decided to fight some rebel npcs there. Afterwards, my atst that was following me didn't seem to noticeably follow me. So at one point, I was too far (while i was running near every other stupid atst to see which if any would follow).
Then i got the message: "you failed to stay near your escort target.' followed by,'doing your duty, phase I: return to admiral krieg and explain yourself soldier!'
so then i go back to admiral krieg, thinking i can restart the quest, however his options only give me 'sorry i should be somewhere else' or 'stop conversing'.
He won't give me a new quest, and even after getting another deed from the bones, he still blows me off. Anyone else have this problem? If so, did it ever get resolved and how?
Another question - my friend completed the ATST but could not complete fighting the reb npcs since they would spawn in the mountain, unattackable - any way of completing this?

I had this twice m8, its a known bug we'll have to wait for a fix, unless by chance it works for you

Exact same thing happened to me. I really wish these things wouldnt be released so pre-maturely or without proper testing, but then again, that wouldnt be SOE if they did.....grrrrr.

To start it over you will need to go and loot the pile of bones again.
And for the Rebels that spawn outside of the walk zones, you should
be able to pick them off from various angles with a rifle.

This is really discouraging. I've been enjoying the RotW quests right up until now.
The stupid AT-ST materializes in the hillside, it won't follow me, it won't go anywhere, and I couldn't get a clear shot on the Rebels that were up on the hill without moving outside the 25 meters and failing the mission.
I always thought an "escort" mission meant that you followed something that knew where it was supposed to be going... or alternately led it to that place.
I'm not to keen on going back to Dath and driving 4k back to do something I've already successfully done.

Spoiler Info... be warned.
What I did was this...
As soon as the AtSt spawns I then quickly get to it and start my walking [using the shift key the whole way] I always made sure to be in the center of the path so the atst wouldnt go astray...
Anyway now on rebels spawning....
They'll spawn twice, during this quickly try to kill the ones aggroed on you so that the atst doesnt fix on them... and then quickly get back to the walking, on the second spawn of rebels do the same, quickly try to take out only the ones aggroing on you, dont waste your time on ones too far away, your atst might start walking off possibly, if your not walking soon again [thats my thoughts on that bug where it starts going on its own].
Anyway both times the rebels spawn they might be a tough shot, over the hill or too far away, just dont move out of the 10 meter range of the atst.
Once you reach teh gate to the main wookie city with the starport you'll get the message saying you cleared it.
Talk to Kreig again [if thats how his name is spelled]
Next you take out a total of 9 rebel [3 of each kind] 3 Commandos / 3 Troopers and 3 Wookie freedom fighters.
You need to kill all of them. If one gets stuck in a hill or odd spot in like the fence near there and you cant kill him.
Get killed.
If you dont, Krieg wont help you outto start it over.
Once dead, talk to Kreig again and you can do that part over and try it again. If you need to, rinse and repeat that Kill step.
Next you will be sent to the dead forest to kill about 15 I think of a mixed bag of rebels. After that return to greet a different IMPORTANT person to talk with to get the Deed. Though there is another mission after that prize u still get the deed anyways.

Aparently you can go On Leave after you get the quest and the Rebels will leave both you and the AT-ST alone, although this could technically be classed as an exploit(currently I would call it a workaround, considering the buggyness of this quest), and Ive not verified it personally yet.

or instead of dying just bring the at-st up with you slowly walking back up once it is outside the npc's will start moving then you do not have to worry about the stuck ones.
i done this for people so many times i can walk you thru it with out one problem.

where is the data pad any way i couldnt find the corpse at the nightsister stronghold
