I'm running out of things to do in this game and I've finally decided to become a Jedi. I envisioned joining one of many guilds, reallybecoming immersed in this Star Wars world, making friends withthe people I meet and finally becoming a Jedi once I've become an established character in my server. Instead I find myself running around alone on deserted planets, occasionally passing a lone fighter too busyto respond to a helloor a group of afks building up their stats without actually having to play. Every day my server becomes more and more empty. We tried starting a new guild. It's hard enough finding people to join but even harder to catch my guild members online. The only thing that could save this game from impending doom is a group of workaholic creative minds in positions thatthey actually have some power on what goes in the gamethat really care about it andareeven somewhat saddened by what the game has become. Then when I found out the newest addition would be "Jump to Lightspeed", an add-on that ignores any problems and throws in some space ships for our amusement, I realized those minds didn't exist and the harsh reality set in. But enough dramatic babbling
I've decided to spendwhat's almost definitely my final weeks/months with SWG as a Jedi. I became glowy, met the old man, andfound the village. I talked to the elder and he directed me to some guy whose name started with a D. I found him and started his missions. I finished 3/8 missions when he said to come back tomorrow to continue with the missions. So I left for a day and came back on. When I talked to him this time,it was as if we never met. All of a sudden I find that he's giving me the exact same missions as the previous day, they're even numbered 1/8, 2/8 and 3/8. After the 3rd mission, AGAIN he says to come back the next day. What am I doing wrong? I'd like to eventually learn how to use a lightsaber, maybe I'm talking to the wrong guy. I desperately need help...thank you

There really isn't anything wrong.
You can only do 3 missions a day, so do like he says and come back in 24 hours.
Then the next day you can get 6/8 and the following day you can finish out the mission.

Go check the Force Sensitive Profession forum, there are detailed instructions for the FS quests. It's also possible you hit a nasty bug. Just read the forums and make sure you are doing everything right.

Im not sure what server your on, but if its that dead like i know some of the servers are then I would either pay to transfer your toon, or just recreate a new toon on a heavily populated server like bloodfin or bria before you get in too deep in the fs quests.

You can't transfer a force sensitive toon, so he's stuck where he is.

Yea he speaks the truth. When you begin feeling the force it is over for your character.

And it will be quite some time to get to the lightsaber stage depending entirely on how much you play. There are detailed instructions on all of this FS stuff on various guides around the forums, but basically, you have a lot of grinding to do to get all those boxes before you can get Jedi Initiate... but you're going in the right direction, just keep checking in with that guy. Once you complete his quest, you will unlock a branch on one of the skill trees. Then you should start getting the necessary xp for those boxes.
Good luck, and may the Force be with you
