Okay, I've gotten to where I'm getting exp to be a droid maker, or architect, or whatever. Made a resource farming machine, wind machine..but when I'm doing surveying for materials. The materials that were there yesterday aren't on my machine today. Like radioactive material..it's not that I can't find the material, it doesn't even show up to search for. Any clue as to why this is?

That is a resource shift, which occurs every x number days.

Its something you have to deal with when using harvesters. I had some high-quality, highly-concentratedresource veins set up with harvesters on Naboo, and it was great for a few days.

But to keep the market from being flooded with resources, harvesters can *deplete* the land of a particular resource after a given amount of time.

Sometimes you are lucky, and the copper you mined is replaced by another type of copper after the shift, or one inert petrochem is replaced with another type of inert petro chem, or something else of value.

I got hit hard last night, 5 of my 7 harvesters are now sitting on top of 20% max concentrations of low quality ingredients... and I left them for a few days b/c of work, so they all need a good 2000 creds to repair. Do I even bother with this, or should I set up shop elsewhere?

But that's part of the game, and though I'm disappointed at what happened, I like that there's a game of chance involved in harvesting.

I guess I'llwait it out and see if anything pops up in the next few days.

So I take it the res shifted on Naboo? Anyone know if it is done on all servers, and will we get the same numbers at the same spots from different servers?

It shifts all the time.. some days youll have copper on a planet, other days there will be none.. Ive had it happen that while i was sampleing a good by hand.. it disapeared from the planet...

Be patient.. look for high quality materials.. and if you find one.. TAP THE HELL OUT OF IT... Cause in a few hours it could be gone for a week or more..

this goes for all servers.. all the time. hope this helps...

what you need to do is figure out what goes with what... I am working on a small db that will hopefully work in conjunction with other sites (everytime I find a resource and look it up on a site it magically isn't there )to record the qualities of all resources. I will also release my info to sites as it becomes available.

Then after that you have to figure out what mineral works best with what schematic.. Last night I found a really nice recipe for CDEF weapons. Increased damage by almost 80% after experimentation over my stock CDEF Pistol. Alas it is your choice as to if you share this information or not.. Eventually it will probably become well known, but in the meantime, don't expect me to.

1: what determines how many experimentation points i have for a certain assembly?
2: what are the max ber for all the harvesters...a big favor to ask listing this, but if someone knows
3:what makes a vendor appear on the overhead map/on the planetary map?

thx a lot in advance

1: The number of points you can spend depend only on your "{blah} experimentation", where {blah} is the profession where you learn the schematic for the item. So if you're making a crafting tool (learned in Artisan), the points are determined by your "Artisan Experimentation" skill. For every +10 you have in the skill, you get a point to spend.

1a (not sure if maybe you meant this): The max percentage you can experiment to depends on the resource stats. The item schematic has listings for the experimentation categories that can be effected, and each category has a percentage breakdown of the resoruce stats that effect it. A crafting tool, for example, has only a single category "Effectiveness", and it depends 100% on Conductivity. So if you make it from a metal that has 100 conductivity, you'll only be able to bump that category up to 10%. If you use a 900 conductivity metal (usually copper), you can experiment up to 90% before hitting the "cap".

2: Personal harvs: 4ber, medium harvs: 10ber (although 9 is more common), heavy harvs 12 or 13. Wind generators cap at (I believe) 9ber, solar generator at 9ber, and fusion ion generator at 14. I think the architect forum has these numbers in their FAQ, I may be wrong on the generators.

3: You have to be able to place a vendor, obviously, which you can first do at Artisan Business 3. Then you have to get Merchant (requires Bus. 4), and the Advertising 3 skill box. Then you can register the vendor on the planetary map (for an increased maintenance cost).
