OK I signed up to be a rebel pilot, and the woman gave me a checkpoint mission, check a few areas and report back. En route to the 3rd one, 3 TIE cadets appear and attack me. However, I cannot seem to do any damage to them. I blast and blast away with the default weapon, and it seems like its doing nothing. Am I just missing something entirely??? I am using the default ship they give you, as I am broke and cannot afford upgrades yet (I have just returned to game after nearly 2 years off, and I sunk all the money I had into my house, which ran out long ago so now i have no house either

).

Also, i seem to have trouble using auto-pilot, it engages and then immediately disengages.

I am using a keyboard/mouse config. I have a Logitech wingman but the right analog is screwy and i enter a permanent roll, so other than the left analog its basically useless. If anyone has suggestions to remap the default controls if you just want to use mouse/keyboard, greatly appreciated as well.

For some of your questions, try posting in the Jump to Lightspeed forum and the Pilot forum (under Professions).

If you can hear your hits (or see the flashes when you hit) but you do no damage, something is bugged. Restarting the game is your bet bet.

When you have engaged autopilot you cannot boost, or turn at all. Slightest movement will turn it off, as will objects in th flight path.

try to keep your green crosshair of you ship over that green cross infront of you target and you'll be sure to hit him

hit detection is *very* buggy.. often when i see the flash of shields i do no damage, i've learned to lead my targets more, to deal damage

I think it may have been server issue. i was doing fine yesterday afternoon for a while, having an easy time taking out ships, but then again at night it was the same thing, ships zipping all over the place impossible to hit.

I am getting EXACTLY the same problem??? Is this a bug or something? or are doing something wrong???
