Hi, I just realized that with the upcomming combat rebalance, only Humans, twi-leks, and zabrak will be able to wear the RIS helmet (not sure about mando). My issue is this, this will be probably the best armor available to the community because the DWB will be a dark place never heard of or mentioned after the rebalance because of its difficulty, and yet only the 3 moststacked charactersraces in the game can wear the helmet, probably the most, or 2nd mostimportant peice of armor. In My opinion the 3 races mentioned previously already have an advantage because of thier respective stats and abilities, so why let them and them alone wear the RIS helm? My rodian will still be seen or heard trying to obtain this armor, but its somewhat sad when i cant wear the coolest part. This is just my opinion, i want to get some positive/negative feedback on your opinions, but please no flames.
P.S. i feel this way about all race limited helmets.....
P.P.S. Pleaze post here... http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=GCW&message.id=247944

... what i don't see is why rodians, bothans, mon calamari and thrandosan can't wear this helmet.. and twi-leks with the lekku and most zabraks with horns can...

i've always thought it was funny to see a twi'lek with a composite helmet on and its lekku just... sticking out the sides
to see a mon cal's helmet warp and strech to fit its head
to see a trandoshans enlarge to fit..
to see the helmts mold to rodians long snouts...
only races i can see fitting into current helmets are humans and zabrak...
if anything limit it to juts human/zabrak... why twi'lek gets em and not mon cal/tran/rodian/mon cals is beyond me.... twi'lek got the oddest heads of all
and dont flame me, im not human/zabrak, im wookiee, so i wont have any chance to wear this.. heh

Shonn - RIS helms are good but they are not perfect. Without extra layers they are vulnerable to acid and stun. Picture a BH eyeshotting you with a geonosian sonic blaster or a rifleman headshotting you with a DXR6b disruptor rifle. That RIS helmet then becomes a vulnerability.

Hmm, i dont get why Trandoshans wouldnt be able to wear these, it would make more since to have my ridges suddenly flatten than have holes appear out of nowhere and have lekkus stick out.
When trandhoshans wear helmets, nothing enlarges at all, its normal.
But I'm still sorta stuck on how armor becomes stretchy to rodian snouts, mon cal heads and such...
and who would of known rubber could protect you from swords and guns....

even the 'art' for a twi'lek with a helmet on is just.. lame
you say 'holes that appear out of no wear'
doesnt even look like holes, just really bad animation, they just stick out and overlap the helmet... lame lol

personally, as far as the issue with the way they look in helmets it's not important. For one thing, the amount of new textures, artwork, meshes and things that go into making the actual helmets look specific for each race means a lot of extra work by the devs when it's not needed. the only thing you gain is the look of the helmets when you view them in the /examine window. It's cheaper, less work and effective enough to keep it the way it is. Because honestly, who looks at how a helmet fits when your getting shot in the head by a laser or clawed by a rancor. The helmet my warp or suddenly appear to grow holes when different races wear them...but they all protect just the same.
Also, I don't think all races should be able to wear everything. Plus if the devs decided to go by each races features and why or why they can't wear certain items....they would spend much unneeded time creating and changing parts of the game, that basically doesn't effect anything but how each of us view them. I'd much rather they spend their time fixing bugs and adding new content....then if they have some extra time, they can deal with all the other meaningless or minor detailes. For now though, I can care less that my composite helmet doesn't have holes in the sides when I/examine itbut suddenly do when my twi'lek puts them on.......so what...the devs time is better served doing more important things rather than actually putting detailed features on everything.....besides if they started doing that, then all the clothes in the game would come in different sizes and it would be a pain to find your size and also clutter the database do to needing more space for 60 items that use to only be one.
As for Armor.....they devs have said over and over that "ALL" Armor will be changed and adjusted to fit the combat balance. So we can't go by the way armor is now....for all we know they may put in a new armor that's better than anything we have now and it might actually be wearable by all species....basically it's too late in the games development to worry about any current issues that's affected or will be affected by the combat balance. things will change and for me to sit here and worry about my RIIS Armor in it's current state is just a waste of time. The decisions have been made and the devs are changing things....the only thing I want to know now is what are those changes and how will they affect me and my enjoyment in this game. everything else is like my highschool clothes.....in the garbage and to the trash because i can't fit them anymore....it's time to update the wardrobe......Know what I mean?

As stated before there is a lot of work behind the scenes. The devs either dont have the time or the man power to fix this problem. Dosh now have the most species penelties which is sad. One thing that has bugged me since launch. The fact that a Dosh trained in armorsmith doesnt have the skill to make 3 fingered gloves or modified boots for him to use.
