OK I know I'm SUPPOSED to read and research and visit test center and all that but belive it or not I just like to play my character.

So last night I'm swooping home to my guild city on Rori when I get popped for a search by a group of white stormies. I have -5000 imperial and not wanting to fight AND get to a recruiter to lose an hour getting my covert status back I start swinging (TKM Style). I'm fully buffed, mind buffed, comp armor and I'm dead in 30 seconds. It is only then that I notice that the white stormies "look" different.

So now I'm going to die every freakin' time I stumble on these guys? It used to be an annoyance now it's going to be a game killer. I know how much the true RPs must be wetting thier shorts over this one, but did the devs think this one through? I guess I shouldn't be surprised when CB goes live and a TKM won't be able to take out a kreetle with out a bunch of freinds and a sack lunch.

Just to confirm - was this incident on TC or not? Either way, what did these troopers look like? Obviously not the traditional ST's, but were they the next tier troopers that have been in game for a while or were these something new all together?? Were they in the new 'heavy' armor?

This was on Sunrunner. They looked normal until they got close (and I was dead) then the white armor - which is usually smooth - was full of angles. Not just one or two but an entire squad. I didn't write dowen thier resists but it was across the board in the high 60's.

Hm...the new tier 3 ST armor (Shock Trooper) is rather angular by the looks of the Friday feature pictures. I thought the Nova troopers mentioned were "smoother" but bulkier from an armor standpoint so maybe it was the new ones.

I do know that my alt on Kettenmoor (Rebel novice BH) was confronted by a ST (only one, not a squad) not long ago and although the scan was "clean" just for kicks I spit at him. I was instantly incapped (mind damage) and charged a 5,000 credit fine. It's possible that had it been a squad of ST's and I had not just spit at him, but attacked them, that I would have been in your situation. (not just incapped for verbally assaulting an ST during an inspection, but DB'd for outright attacking them.) Maybe that was part of it.

As a RP'er I'd probably be in that camp of glad to see the crackdown, actually be a crackdown but I also empathize with how tough that's going to make being a Rebel moving forward. Of course, I don't recall Han, Leia or Luke srolling down the avenues of Theed, Kaadara, or Coronet either in the films.

Beeing a rebel will become more dangerous in future, what i appriciate on the one hand. But on the other hand, what are the Benefits of beeing a rebel then? You get scanned, you have only crappy faction perks ... devs, after our life is becoming more difficult, can't you give us a reason to stay rebel? Or give us a chance to conquer planets .. so uber rebel squads will patrol there and imp pc will fear to get scanned

Me too. I was unbuffed at the time and decided to burst run after being knocked of my bike.

A couple of the STs chased me for 4000m. I decided to stop and was given a TEF and told to report to a recruiter, I ran off again and they didn't follow this time.

The TEF did wear off and I was stillcovert. i didn't need to report to a recruiter.

That sounds a whole lot like the ST's on the Corvette. Are they bringing them down to the surface now? Those guys have huge resists compared to the typical NPC Troopers on the ground.
