Thread: Vehicle Customization lowered from 2000 to 200 ? since when ? This is Absurd !

Greetings..., this probably sounds pretty silly but..

It seems there was a change on this and it kind of passed me by..., so.., today for a change I decided to change the Trim colour on my av-21..., and when I did.., it went from 15xx customization durability to 200 max...

Now this is pretty stupid.., this had already been increased.. since when and why.., did the developers lower it...

I mean.. its absurd because your vehicle is something you use.. ALOT.., capping the durability of customization to 200 is like saying..., you better buy yourself 10 customization kits..

Its like 200 uses..., I can wear that off in a month or less..

I'm not sure though.., maybe someone can answer me aswell.., if old customization kits (those that where made before this change happend) if applied today will give the 2000 durability ?

Either way its pretty stupid one has to resort to such.., if such even works in fact.. to get a decent durability on the paint customization..

Please reply to this post as a statement to the developers..

That lowering something that you first had increased some months ago.., is beyond reason... No wonder so many people are canceling they're subscriptions to SWG... so many absurd things keep getting changed..

I wonder when will we have some sort of decent stability..., but.., its not realy like I ask much..., though.., not even the stupid Painting customization durability could they keep at a decent amount...

Feel free to leave your coments or flame as you wish..., I just hope someone "out there" reads this and at least thinks about the possibility of changing the durability on the kits back to 2000...

Kindest Regards.

First off, please don't write in such a small font, it's hard to read.

More likely than not, this is NOT an intentional change. The coding in the game that sets the customization to 2000 probably got accidentally changed back to the old 200 limit when the 12.1 patch went through, or when one of the numerous patches we've gotten over the last few days to correct the "rubberbanding" went in.

I understand your frustration, but before you blow up, might I suggest you send in a bug report if you haven't done so already? This error is probably unknown to the Dev team and it's a simple one-line code fix.

No, it's not a bug. It was lowered intentionally back in December. 2000 was too many. It basically made it so that you wouldn't need to buy another kit for many months, thus taking away sales from Artisans. 200 is a good number, IMHO.

mmm.. It is a bug indeed... I just thought at first that this was a actual change that passed by on some previous patch...

I just tryed something that in fact works to correct it..

You use a paint customization kit on your vehicle, but you don't store it after..., just log off and disconect shortly after you changed the colour.

When one returns the durability is as it should be (2000).

I have yet to send a bug report to the dev's..., but I will do so ASAP..., meanwhile.., those who have the same problem.., just do this process as I have written above, and it will work.

And sorry VelRahn.., it wasn't my intention to appear that "upset", though I was in fact..., I think you judged my words a bit harsh

But in the end if so money is payed,,, its a bit strange that such small things keep getting through..

I just hope they fix this..., for... well.. so that others with the same problem won't be obligated to run arround with only 200 durability on they're paint customizations..

Kind Regards.

This is 100% true. It's got changed back in Publish 11.5.

Strange, really... I painted my Swoop a few days ago and it had 2000 calls then. Of course, it has like 1850 calls now...

You could have been using a customization kit crafted while it was at 2000. I don't know whether or not the change affected items already in the system.

mmmm.. if this is not a bug then.., its strange that it lets one have 2000 dur. if you just customize it now, log off and disconect without storing the vehicle..

I did this on all 3 of mine.., and all got 2000 dur when I re-logged..

Ah.., almost forgot to mencione..

Two days ago I paint customized my storage droids aswell..., all got 2000 dur on the customization..., there was no need to re-log nor anything..

If the droid's have 2000 dur. why not the vehicles ?

Quite strange...

I thought the kit customization should be permanent until the player actually changed it. I know some greedy Artisans would think lowering it to 200 is a good move but the fact is no one was using these kits when the devs made it so you need a new kit every few weeks. I would not waste my time on this if the devs lower it again.

frankly i dont mind paying to repair my vehicle it just goes with the rl idea of maintenance. and i could deal with the lower number of uses of VC, but MY problem is that i have a HELL of a time finding VC kits in stock! anywhere! and u know there is nothing more i hate than messing around shoppping, except for when i get to a vendor and it doesnt stock WHAT IT ADVERTISED! gosh darn it, i hate that! so please, artisans who make these VC kits, please stock them on the bazaar!

i have to disagree i dont think it is a bug, they changed it in november from whatever it was to 2000 but then they changed it to 200 as they said 2000 was too high
